@pepperj are the heads dangerous? As in should I put it in some padding or ?

What I'm assuming is the bullet from one of them, it has this weird bit stuffed into it.

It's not lead and feels like some sort of fibers or whatever, hard to describe its like softish hard..

Probably perfectly safe.
(Though it's always recommended not to bite, hit with hammer, put in microwave or in oven, and that includes the BBQ.
Vices are a sure way of clamping but also not advisable.
Perfect show off material. 👌

The end stuffing bit is most certainly not lead, my dad confirmed that too when I asked him to look at it without mentioning anything about what I thought

Just tested scratching it with a sim ejector and it breaks apart like wood fibers ...
Interesting maybe some sort of speciality round with a tip made for a specific target

I was wondering if it's something like the modern armour piercing rounds or something.

Something which on impact explodes or something like that, hopefully not
Probably not tip is flat so it hit something already so more than likely harmless

I'm thinking the same, interesting find tho.

Now I have to get a better look at my crotal bell, it's older than my first for sure, the design in the base Is very simple

That bell is nice. Don't find those here in my state

Yeah I'm pretty happy with it.

I have 2 whole bells, one broken quarter/half and one possible piece

This bell is supposedly around 1700/1800s since it's only base half decorated but it's made in one piece with the hanging eye as one

You need to get that dirt out of the bell.
Soak, run under tap, toothpick to push mud out.
Dry, shake, here it ring for the first time in 100s of years.
It's one of the best things that a person can do, reliving it's lost history.
They this was from just from a field near the zoo (I'm sure you know where that is located)

Just general tidy up and insulating a barn with a few improvements
Barns are big, airy, crooked, old, and dusty.
Took this down in 2 weeks all by myself. 35 Ft x 70 ft long
Granary was a tad higher than the 40Ft lift
First photo is on April 26, the day I planned on getting started. :laughing7:
Last photo was May 7th

Did you save any of the wood?
I did it to salvage all the board, timbers, and even took all the foundation stone. Any rotten wood I buried.
I have many stacks covered up with the sheet metal off of this roof and a few others.
Probably 200 beams under cover still.
Hope is to get a sawmill for resaving the old growth timbers.
I have a few floors in the house with repurposed wood that is 150+ yrs old

chap or lip stick tube ...

Well crap.
Megacrap.
Dog to vet and I drove due to road conditions.
Went in because it's cold.
Ladyfriend ended up having her good boy/(our baby boy dog years ago); put down.
We were not quite ready for that. Been a struggle of late ; but we all tried.

Then on the way home and where the wrecks were the other day I went broadside at 30 m.p.h. on the crap ice about two inches or more thick in places when the ruts threw me around.
After sliding a ways I swapped ends. but still going sideways. At which point being the crap systems had failed, the engine should have stalled. At least it's supposed to on this system.(?) I got back on the throttle and got it to turn.
Damned 4wd and all the features of a new(er) vehicle and it all went to crap.
Lucky for us no traffic was coming the other direction.
