So far I'm liking the eqx 700.....im liking it a lot more than 600, which I liked a lot !! This machine is lighter, stronger,and deeper, and has an actual acceppted waterproof rating of ip-68. It's deep enough to be a struggle in the bush....deep holes sometimes !! Very familiar except all the numbers are different. One of the best features is the telescoping carbon fiber shaft !! From fully collapsed, to all the way open in seconds !! This machine converts to back pack size in seconds now....smaller than the 600 would !! Walking in the dense bush is easy because it collapses so small now !!

She folds over sideways in line with the coil.....you would be surprised how nice this feature is....this thing packs away and carries so nice !!

It looks almost the same as the 600, but you can see some Suttle changes in materials and case engineering that appears to be more robust ?? We will see soon enough.....off to the bahamas for some serious salt water soaking.....hell.....I might go salt water soak it today !!

@Mackaydon
Well Don ill be over in Spanish wells for my annual fishing trip, and of coarse I'll be poking around the shipwreck "Baltic" !! Im sure the RCT crew would be amazed at the salvage of this incredible wreck !! For you guys who don't know, @Mackaydon was the man who salvaged and identified this wreck with bahamian treasurehunter nick meilus !! Many years later I was able to find just some small portions of timbers poking out of the barren white sand it lies in. None of the natives or islanders could find it exactly anymore. Any way I check it every year, and it's sometimes covered deeper, or uncovered more. I have been poking around the caves and hills searching for what I would assume would be the natural survival areas for the people who came ashore here. There are many caves here and I usally get up inside some very tight areas spelunking with my detector.

I'll hand fan on the stern of the boat where there is much pottery frags, and glass. I've gotten down sometimes passed the bulwark to deck, and even gotten brass steering gears off the stern, so it's always fun to swim/kyak to the wreck and snorkel it. But I always wanted to ask you if you knew anything of how and where survivors took refuge, and just how much of that cargo was left in the bottom.....I know you had to boogey before hurricane Andrew hit !! Here's an Instagram video of me and some local kids exploring inland from the wreck site.

Check us all out going in deep on this small cave.....when we first found this one I felt the entrance was intentionally widened and squared up.....I will return in June with a head lamp and explore further....it could open up in there....Indiana Jones shit, treasure or not.....it was fun and made my day !!

And finally we came across the spot where the upper decks, and all the rigging came ashore !! Check out the follow on shots to see the updated Google earth images that now show the outline of the wreck from space.

So when I got on the Baltic trail I had herd a rumor in town that there was supposed to be a case of gold pocket watches lost onboard this ship.....I thought .... well they would tried to save that and bring it ashore....so I start hunting the beaches and dunes, and BANG !! A FRIGGIN GOLD POCKET WATCH !!

I don't think it's of the same time frame though....so it was a random drop or loss from50 years later.....although I should get it open to check for more inscription.

Took me 7 days on a kyak with a glass bottom bucket to refind the baltic....I searched for three days on the wrong side of "Ridley Head"(big rocky bluff on the ocean) after getting around to the right side of the bluff I found the same thing as in the video.....a small nub of wood in the sand....when I got in with snorkel gear I could see the entire outline of the wreck !!

Good morning to you as well always looking forward to seeing the treasures you find California doesn't have cool stuff like that

Well JVA.....I couldn't even make it to the spot today !!
At least you have fun stuff. I get to go to Santa Cruz tomorrow but won't be cool history like you could find. Just chances of dropped jewelery. Though I'm happy I'll be going to the coast and that my brother and his girlfriend are nice enough to do that for a birthday thing for me. I'll just take in the nice coastal weather and enjoy a much needed day metal detecting
