All Bassets are born fluent in both french and English so actually all bark in English with a french accent……Likely they do.
However, Interestingly they seem unable to understand any verbal commands… in any language… hence they are described as “notoriously stubborn “ xxx 😂😂

Had a beagle that when interested in being in the house when I was away , (it happened sometimes , more so on cold winter days.) would claim my chair and defend it from all comers.
He'd "sing" with me too.
