@Dakota Sioux These are endangered species. They are very protected internationally, and were once highly sought after by musical instrument builders and furniture makers. This is a particular species of mahogany that only grows in south Florida and the carribean. It's known by many slang names. Cuban mahogany, American mahogany, west indies mahogany, etc. It can't be imported from any countries, so the only source in the U.S. is from south Florida. And is storm fall or permitted take down. We urban log all of it.

Yes, it's a tad frozen over now.
In the typical winter there can be as much as 30" of ice on the bay.
