@ARC those gold coins were found by a friend in the islands. He works for a landscaping business and they often go from one island to another. Three of them were working on Nassau, and they were doing some land clearing for a major development on the island. They were removing a large old tree, and when the stump was pulled....up came this tremendous horde of gold !! They carefully picked up every gold coin and put them In towels and packed them in the bobcat. After loading there equipment they rode the ferry back to there home island. That was my friends 1/3. Later through research it was learned that an American captain involved in pineapple business had 2 families.....one in the bahamas, and one in New York. Appearntly he died and his bahamian gold cach was never known about....all that was figured out over about a year of research !! He was able to sell 4 coins and get an enormous amount of money......he still works everyday, but he did renovate his house !! And he still has alot of coins. I got to hold them and drool !! Just insane !! Here's a secret.....barley anything has been touched in the bahamas.....there are still caches to be found....and good ones. Karl von Mueller and all those crazy treasure hunters from the 50s 60s that got the easy gold here in the states, never got to the islands.....its good over there !!
