thanks pep - so here's the deal - we have a really big old pecan tree that has been slowly falling for a long time - last april we had some guys cut part of it into pieces - i wasn't thinking - we now have about 10 pieces that have a diameter of 16" and length 20-22" - they are too heavy for one person to carry- i think i was just worried about how do we get this out of here - it' a fairly wooded area - i now know that the people with the planers and those other things that they want the wood to be 4 ft minimum - so what can i do with this wood if anything - besides the obvious answer that would offend women and children - thanks pep -you are a craftsmen in all thingsMorning old texan
So what was your query about woodworking?
You can do a Cole's Note version-then I'll know if it's above the pay grade
thank you very much bart - are my 20" pieces too short to work with ?Well old texan.....im not pepper, but I do run an urban logging operation here in the keys. The heart of our operation are a couple Alaskan chainsaw mills. This is what you need to mill your logs on site. 16inch would be perfect size for this mill, and it would do it pretty quick. Several ways to do it, but we use a 20 foot ladder to run the mill on the log....you'll need to watch some videos on it.
It wood be too small to mill on a typical sawmill.thanks pep - so here's the deal - we have a really big old pecan tree that has been slowly falling for a long time - last april we had some guys cut part of it into pieces - i wasn't thinking - we now have about 10 pieces that have a diameter of 16" and length 20-22" - they are too heavy for one person to carry- i think i was just worried about how do we get this out of here - it' a wooded area - i now know that the people with the planers and those other things that they want the wood to be 4 ft minimum - so what can i do with wood if anything - besides the obvious answer that would offend women and children - thanks pep -you are a craftsmen in all things
