A treasure story
My friend and fellow treasure hunter Bradly Williamson once told me where to go to find more treasure than I could carry. He said he had been with a team in Panama searching for Drakes mule train treasure. This was a large amount of silver that was dumped and hidden/buried by drake and his men, who were unable to carry the bulk of the treasure....they took most of the gold and dumped the silver. He said they searched for many days with no real luck except some military relics. He was disappointed to say the least, and they went to portobello to search out drakes rock and other related shipwrecks. Well....he said he found more treasure than ever before just by hunting with his metal detectors around old foundations and cisterns and wells. This town was the hub of the galleon trade fairs, and every year it became the busiest treasure port in all the spanish main. It was captured and sacked by the buccaneers on several occasions over the years, and each time the residents would flee the town with all there portable wealth....money, jewels, gold, silver, and religious church ornaments. These items would be buried and hidden all over the surrounding countryside. Slowly over a period of days and weeks the buccaneers would round up the townspeople from hiding and torture them into revealing where they hid there wealth. Many people died without ever revealing there hiding spots, and much treasure would remain hidden till this day. This particular town was raided at least 4 recorded times.....each time hidden wealth was lost by spanish prisoners who died trying to keep there wealth, or just being killed in battle with no one left to retrieve there treasure. So the pirates didn't bury treasure, but the towns folk most certainly did in the face of attacking pirates/buccaneers. So badly wanders out of his house in town and heads into the abandoned part of portobello some mile or so from the towns hub today. The very first foundation he comes too he found a buried cache of exactly 200 pieces of eight. He told me that he found more treasure in a week of hunting in the country side than he has ever found in his life. He urged me to go down as soon as possible, and said that it was absolutely the most insane treasure hunting he ever did.....this is the type of hunting we all do.....no special info about a known treasure, just plain old fashioned metal detecting in one of the hottest most unhunted old spots on the spanish main.....he said big egos prevent most hunters from doing the obvious scrounging around the old ruins.....every one is after silver bars, and drakes gold. Everybody is looking for a mega treasure. He said that a guy like him and I would be rich in a year of just normal hunting around the obvious spots.....he told me never to get caught up in the giant expedition, and to always remember how to just get results by hunting the stuff that others are to proud to hunt. I'm here to tell you that this is just one of these most incredible spots that very few ever hunt......this spot has been on my bucket list for years now after hearing the stories.

Morning, Top of day, Afternoon everyone.
Belly full back to the board nails.
The last bottom board was some little pickers, missed a 3/16" long tip of a small sq.
The planer found it...Grrr.....

It was a itty-bitty of a sq.
I ran a few boards through the planer.
The 5 on the right are 10ft.
Still have to put the through the joiner yet.View attachment 2063411
