Isla de Sacrificios ("Island of Sacrifices") is an island in the Gulf of Mexico, situated off the Gulf coastline near the port of Veracruz, in Mexico. The waters surrounding the island are part of the Sistema Arrecifal Veracruzano National Marine Park. It is currently closed to the public and is under the protection of the Secretariat of the Navy.

So remember to send your address so we can bake you a loaf of bread with a file inside of it. (Wink Wink)
Thats typical....where ever you want to go and check is closed.....same here in the keys.

Oh...there's treasure there ? Let's make that a park and close it to everyone.

On another note I found a company that tours the island....so whats written and whats going on are 2 different things. But this gringo has other islands that are better choices. We'll take a look at some others....so many more like this !!

It also might be a case of not what you know-but it's who you know.
Yes-Probably what rules/laws are on the books for many things in the country but not enforced.

Morning Peps… agreed Nectarines have their place in the great fruit bowl of dreams…. but apples keep the Dr away … 😆 xxx
Well isn't that just peachy.
Note: Have to be free stone as well.
Apple 101:
The number of distinct varieties grown by Americans in the 19th century was somewhere around 14,000.

Compare all of this to the 90 or so varieties grown commercially in North America today, or to the handful of shiny cultivars on display at the local supermarket, and you are immediately faced with a pomological conundrum

Something like 12- 14 years after Veracruz was sacked there was quite a revolt by hungry citizens ?
It's government type building(s?) burned and damaged... High ranking figures hiding /leaving ect..
May have caused more common folks to spread out nearby or farther till things cooled off and shortages were not such an issue?

Such a short amount of time between two such events might make it hard to tell what event related to disturbance on Veracruz (if any) a site or relic represents.
A charcoal stained hearth on an island nearby for example. Broken glass or whatever.

A half dozen of those taken as captives or slaves during the sacking returned in time , ironically alleged to have returned by way of a Dutch slaver vessel.
Would be interesting to know thier accounts of where the ship(s) they were on's crew in whole or part went ashore , and how often after leaving the island.
Would seem they'd hit somewhere known for fresh water (and potential cache) eventually if the trip to sell slaves was extended?
