For the last 7-10 days a young fawn has been in its home to greet me in the morning.Close to food & water about 60 yards out in the shadows, just to the right of the 2 trees on the left It goes someplace during the days & returns to its

home at sunset.

Standing by to stand by....... my partner is remodeling a condo in plantation key..... in the 80s when this condo was built the owner of the shipwreck museum in key west was working with his father digging a swimming lake when he was a young man. They stopped to take a brake from excavating.....they snuck off the property to drink a beer in the cleared lot next door. As they sat drinking there beers on break a kid on a dirt bike came riding up. He rode his dirt bike up onto a natural dirt mound ( most likely an Indian mound) he started to peel out with the dirt bike and as he hit the throttle.....the first 18 pieces of eight were uncovered by the tire of the dirt bike. Those original 18 coins from the 1733 fleet are on display at the shipwreck museum. They returned the next day and recoveredan additional 232 piece of eight cobb coins.

This condo is the ground zero of the finds.....slight chance I will don a yellow work vest and blend in with the rest of the workers.....of course I'll be looking for sprinkler pipes underground!! Im hoping to get the ok in an hour or so.....I've been trying to get in here for awhile......5 years !!

Modern plastic pipe means no hopping on a shovel...
Not paying attention I cut an electric wire at an abandoned permission. Wire was buried about 3 inches deep.
(Most new stuff is buried around 48 inches here to ensure being below frost line.)

Daughter and I detecting my hometown park I ran as a kid ; I "discovered" a copper line about a foot deep. (Abandon drinking fountain was removed long ago.)

Now , anyone with half a brain can tell when it's a metal pipe or extended line by scanning around it. And when you already found it you don't need to find it again , right?

I unearthed that puppy again about twenty yards away....
Rang up good though!

Loon flew over a bit past midnight giggling away.
Movin slow.
Usually in high gear during daylight runs.
Don't know if the pair that nested so many years about a 3/4 -mile away were replaced as they aged out , but it's been a different pattern for sure.

I know of a vacant wooded oceanfront lot (on the treasure coast) thats being ripped up- right now-, for a condo complex

It really don't matter what day it is, as my day revolves what has to be done, and not much else.
If it involves someone else then the thought might come up "What day of the week is it"

A tradition since before it's being "classic" rock . L.O.L.

One summer on the lake (of only a couple summers living on it's shore) a band could be heard well playing it at night . A friends folks over there hosted a jam session regular.
Some great summer nights they were!
