As some of you know here on rct, I am a super tech nerd when it comes to military hardware. I have kept up to speed on arm development since I was a kid, and my cousins both worked for the DOD. One was in arms sales, and the other designed software and hardware for certain missile systems. At the risk of sounding cold or calous, or uncaring....I will say this....for the first time in a long while we are seeing this hardware in action in this terrible conflict in Ukraine. It has been an incredible opportunity for America to actually see how effective some of this supposed high tech Russian hardware actually fairs in battle. I have been franticly trying to keep track of the Russian hardwares effectiveness in battle....heres what I've always known through my reading. The Russians have fallen far short of there goals and are being held at bay by a very under equipped opponent in the Ukraine forces. They are an unprofessional force with poor training, and the highest rate of alcoholism of any professional fighting force in the world. Most have been idling in antiquated tanks and armored vehicles for 5 months already. They are more than likely home sick, and probably never thought they would actually go to war....the cost of fuel and logistics would have cost a fortune already just to assemble and maintain this force in the field for so many months. They are being kept in check by a handful of modern armaments supplied by the west. Stinger man portable air defense missiles, maverick and javelin missiles, and some great Turkish attack drones that the russians had no idea the Ukraine had. The tactic of hitting the lead vehicles and rear vehicles has had tremendous effect on advancing columns of armor. This tactic forces the armor column to break formation, and get off the pavement and into the mud and snow slowing progress and forcing a portion of vehicles to become stuck and abandoned. The ghost of Kiev has proven that the much vaunted SU-35 stealth fighter is no where even close in effectiveness as was touted in many articles here in the west....it has been bested by antiquated mig-29 fulcrums....still one of the fastest and most maneuverable fighter/interceptors on the planet. I have not even seen the S-400 air defence missiles even mentioned yet, and they were supposed to eliminate any Ukrainian airpower. Aside from having a large nuclear force there military falls significantly short in hardware match ups. They are embarrassingly exposed as a force on force match up with NATO, and would be swept on the battlefield except for the threat of tactile nucs. Such ashame to see the poor Ukrainian people suffering, but wow are they courageous.....of coarse there is much going on we don't know, but I have to think modern western jamming of the Russian air defense systems has kept Russia from gaining air superiority. If the giant convoy of armor were to be hit effectively from the air this war would be over quickly....much like the Iraqi forces were on the highway to hell as they retreated from Kuwait in 91....rest assured american power would have crushed this convoy with any number of airpower and stealth systems. Even though the Russian military will probably take the capital they have shown how ineffective they would be against a superpower such as America.....without the threat of nuclear war they would be destroyed quickly by NATO and the west !!

The Max got muzzled this morning he ❤️ to be in restrained.

Have you ever snagged something from your mom and dad’s , before your obsessive, controlling mom passes away, and up grade the cord and light switch on the first try, only to have to put it back the way it was because she didn’t pass? Then, 3 years later, it takes like 10 tries to get it upgraded correctly? And it’s a simple fix!!! Geesh! I think she was sabotaging me from heaven!

I managed to get the dear little Deer, before the grubby little estate fingers grabbed it.
My father used drag us so willing along to the big surplus luggage auction.
He bought this small trunk, locked up for coffee and 🍩 for the auctioneer.
Gee I even remember the walk to that donut store to get the payment that was due.
50 cents was a tidy sum in my thoughts back then.
In this newly acqured treasure chest (through the eyes of a babe) was a miner's rain suit and this satin glass deer.

Now not quite 60 yrs later its my memory of when times were simple.
