Well I guess this counts as my first ring and bracelet of the year both broken and both junk. Got bored and went over my neighbors house that I've gone over countless times and managed these, junk but it is what it is.
John,
At least you got to swing the coil....one of these days maybe you'll hit the jackpot.

Ahhh yes... The Coon Report.

This is now the new "term" I say we use to describe our surroundings or weather.

Stay tuned for the coon report. :)
Coon report update!

Cold.
Winter storm warning for tomorrow. High winds , 4-8 inches of snow , with my area at the higher end. We'll see.
Covered up tractor and snowblower.
Wanted to pick up a pizza earlier , but her royal indoors just came in all riled up over the run around to get blood pressure meds....And who is supposed to be across the state staying with a brother in poor health.
Guess a pizza is minor in comparison . l.o.l.. I'll not mention my dissapointment , yet.

JVA5th, junk or not, you are out there doing what we love. Some of us are done till spring unless we get a break in the weather. You have to hunt for us.
All I have right now is my permissions within walking distance that I've cleaned up quite well. I've been antsy myself when it comes to metal detecting. Just was nice out today so figured even though I'd probably not find anything I'd just enjoy the weather.

Ahh. But you still held relics of the past that had not seen the light of day in a long time.
Congrats on the outing!

John, If it makes you feel any better I've got about 25 sites in Lachine where I live. However I've been hitting them relentlessly for 25+ years and still manage the odd keeper for my efforts.
I still get a kick out of trying to eke out the occassional keeper though.

Here's a couple recent ones. Art Deco Sterling ring. Eyeball find
White gold with small diamonds. WW1 military horse tack buckle. The chunky silver bracelet is an older one.

Very nice. I've only got like 5 sites in walking distance all very cleaned up. I'm itching to get out to a new spot. Though I still go through my old spots but so far nothing worthwhile

Rook,
The large cities in Canada seem to be the hotspots for the most part. Jim's area being one exception but odds are it's a university city which probably has a lot to do with it.
I think you’re right bill. The most populous places are the most infected.

Great finds bill
I can’t wait to finish therapy to get back at it. That diamond is a beauty, real or not. Looks real to me. Have you had it appraised?

Rook, Actually I didn't bother having it tested appears the stamp wore off. I picked it up out of a parking lot during late winter and both the band and stones were shinning without cleaning so obviously probably good. I gave it to my barmaid buddy Melanie. A couple of years prior I also managed one stamped 14k white gold with slighty larger stones which I gave to the missus. She's got more rings than fingers that I've passed on to her....:laughing7: :laughing7::laughing7:

The girl is home and okay. Had a small cut apparently from a fishing lure that came flying out of the trunk or back seat door handle and snagged her and her scarf and neck. Huh. Imagine that. My kid with a fishing lures in her car.

Pepperj that’s a funny story I’m trying to picture.

Rookster, okay you got her middle name. Now, what color are her eyes?

Rusty, we have both noticed something weird about this virus. We will be feeling drained and yuck yuck and then all of a sudden we feel fine. Was yours like that?
I’m starting to get chills and body aches.

Pretty much. I felt fine today except for a persistent cough. An hour ago I coughed up a vile substance, and a lot of it. since then I've been feeling pretty normal.
