My bride inherited some rings several years back one of which was her dads mason ring which is a beauty of a stone and real. Along with that her mothers stuff. We know exactly where her dad shopped for her jewelry. We were going to get an appraisal for insurance. $70 bucks per piece was the asking price. NO thanks. We just put a high estimate on them an put in a lock box. Moving back to ARC’s comments a moment ago. The example of the CZ last night. I posted found in a volleyball pit. Even though the big stone was a CZ the smaller stones that trimmed the ring (from my jewelry buddy) called chips are real stones to hear him tell it. Not worth a lot but real.
Rook, Generally speaking when selling rings for scrap value any stones less than 1/2 carat are not given any value. Probably better to take the stones out first in that case and try to sell elsewhere.

Unless it's a Ruby, Emerald, Diamond
They have value depending on cut also.
It's a buyers market when cross the threshold of the place that buys the PMs.

Jim, Yep I showed a couple of my dug gold rings to a jeweller. One was a chunky 14k with synthetic ruby, the other was a 2 toned 18k gold with serpent motif. Both in my avatar btw he stated that they go for about $2,000 retail each. Checked scrap value and give or take they're both about $200 scrap value they're in a safety deposit box now. I'd rather give them away than sell for 10 cents on the dollar.

The whole thing about selling is more a person knows of the item the more they're going to sell it for.

There's different synthetic rubies also that determine the value.
I had a spun bowl ruby one time, still got me $800.00.
If it was real I would have been
$60K heavier in the pocket.
(Thinking back on that now-probably that would have killed me)

Providence , and provenance.

Per rings , I don't get too disappointed with "junk" ones recovered. Heck , they're rings!!!
(Maybe after I actually find a real valuable one that will change. L.o.l..)

A quick search shows Greist made a great many products to include guns, precision measuring tools and sewing machine equipment among others.Your thing has measurements going from 0 to 6 on each end so maybe some kind of spacing or center finding tool.Just thought you might like to know that.

Yeah I saw that when I looked it up, interesting stuff.

Making these with dinner.

I love potato pancakes. My mom used to make them every so often. Well the mr WD never cared for them when I made them. And he started criticizing these before he even tasted them. Well, well, well , he liked these so much, he suggested we save the extras and try reheating them in the air fryer I got for Christmas. Season of miracles. 🤣🤣🤣
