That story really makes the garden even tastier, and foraging for shrooms even more appealing.
That is one F....dup event....crazy actually.
The 2 towers part of it, that whole adventure has been sent to the repressed memory part of my brain....best not to bring it back to the thinking part...I just remember...What the F is wrong with people when they think this is something to do....
Yes, really makes one wonder...in 2001, there were very few rad detectors at Ports, and you can bet the shippers knew exactly what to ship where...(Dont forget, the Chernobyl accident was 1986...and this was 2001...
Unfortunately, we still have to be careful foraging, especially for mushrooms as they are hyper accumulators...in areas where there is high natural concentrations of lead or arsenic, you have to be careful...
In case anyone wants to save some of their tomato seeds for next season.
One of the "benefits" of composting is a bumper crop of tomatoes everywhere, mixed with pumpkin, potatoes, and whatever else!
Buddy from my youth showed up to help build a hunting blind platform .
I miss hunting...became an archery hunter, just because the season opens Sep 01, with a 2 deer limit...always filled my Deer and Bear tags...quite good at pheasant hunting with it as well..
In PacNW, always filled my Deer, Elk and Bear tags....(always carried my Thompson Contender in 30 06...just in case of the cats..probably good did not have to fire it, as in 30 06, it would rip your wrist off!)
Since going outside the US since 2010, have not lived in a place that really allows hunting...no way in AUS or USVI...
