Next question: SSI or PADI?
So far we have a referral for each.
I don't think it matters.
FWIW I have PADI AOW & EANX

I was thinking the same as BL and WD, I see you found out about them. I can't say I'd be comfortable under water with contacts. It's not like you can adjust them easily if something jars them out of place.
Or you could lose them if your mask gets knocked loose and floods. There are so many things that can go wrong diving that you don't need another one.

Mornin all.

Up to 1 degree F. here a couple hours after sun up.
And actual sunshine for now...First time in days.
I did seize a snow shovel.
And seized the old dog that gets carried out to the door every couple hours. He's not eating. So I've only got one med in him so far.
Danged dogs barked me awake early this morning. Then didn't want to go out in the cold.
One former grand champion probably still has not relieved himself. A deck board popped and he freaked .

Ahh well.

Good afternoon Pirates! This is BuckIdgr, WD's friend and hunting buddy. I'm back on this site muddling my way through...she's trying her hardest to help me navigate the site. Thank you very much for the scuba Information. We have made a decision. Just wanted to introduce myself...Have a great day!!

I would *MUCH* rather...that science would concentrate on making covid disappear! After all, once the people are all gone, who is going to *buy* their invisible wood! :BangHead:

Just make your own wood bubble. :laughing7:

Welcome BuckIdgr!:hello:
So which one wants to play in the dirt more, you or WD?

Welcome BuckIdgr
You’re hangin around a rough crowd. Don’t tell WD I said that.:laughing7:

Super BOWL countdown is about to begin... one hour till kick off.

Corn Chips... and killer quesso dip.

Angus burger.. on big Hawaiian rolls.

Arrrrrgg

Pete,

You mention Sanibel if memory serves me correctly that's around Ft Myers isn't it? I spent several winter vacations
Naples did you ever try the beaches there?

Quite a few well heeled types have homes in the area.
Yes, just above, and connected to, Captiva. Lots of piratical history in the area. Peace River is fairly close with lots of NS artifacts/points and megalodon teeth and other fossils.

Pete that island has seen its share of pirates, wreckers, shipwreck survivors, settlers, and plantation owners. The history is thick with thousands of shipwrecks in the surrounding waters. Other hordes of coins are rumored....I don't doubt that some of those stories are true. At least 2 galleons are wrecked close by that I know...one of the 1733 wrecks "el populo", and "la neuava victoriosa" 1771....I think. Ill post a pic of where I spear fish. I've seen some great reefs all over the carribean...but nothing compares to the reefs around ceasers creek....it is a jumbled area of reefs with wrecks piled ontop of wrecks !!

I love the background you give to the areas you search.

Things like this just ticks the hell out of me. :BangHead:
Self promotion seems to skew history to no end-doesn't anyone have enough knowledge to vet the facts before posting it up on a web page.
BS meter is so high, me boots are over flowing trending the site.

Sorry to hear your meter is going haywire from those so to speak "authors". Reminds me of those "We Find rare coins in our pockets all the time" video channels. Total BS for ratings/views only.

Well I'm planning my own damn adventures cause thats part of my job....were gonna go back to keywest in 2 weeks, and this time were bringing the 112 foot yacht and anchoring out. I will stay on board the 43 foot tiara sportfish. We will be a mothership and adventure boat operation, and avoid the keywest tourist trap. Ill have 2 eqx 600s, and 1 excal 2. If I have a say in anchoring I will put us in an opertune spot for my own hunting adventures should the opportunity arise. Many times I will take guests beach combing and treasure hunting. I function as a pilot on board when in the keys and bahamas. Keywest is like a second home for me and I know the waters well. I always try to put the fleet in the best position for adventure, fishing, diving/snorkeling, and close enough to dingy into key west for provisions.View attachment 1900443

I don't even tell anyone there is a major killer wreck within a quarter mile from us until its time to reveal it and see who wants to explore it !! Wooo hooo. Then its on to long Island, samana island, and harbor island bahamas !! Getting this season going right !! Opportunity abounds for treasure hunting with my job....and if I'm lucky I can get paid to take guests treasure hunting and find treasure at the same time !! Its not all fun and games and alot of hard work and planning go into these missions....but sometimes its the greatest job on the planet !! Woooo hoooo !!

I know someone local (you probably know him) who dove KW harbor and started an extensive collection of ink wells from what he found long ago. He has many, many interesting artifacts from other areas as well.

To the ship in the image- Seems like the bow is fairly "sharp". A sleek schooner or more modern wreck?

Exactly what I was thinking. Especially with them only being about the cost of prescription glasses.

Scientists develop transparent wood that is stronger and lighter than glass

Interesting material that might even be able to be laminated together like plywood.
Have to be careful with new products tho because of unintended consequences. Remember FRT (Fire ******ant Plywood)? Codes required it over firewall areas of apartments to help contain fires. The problem was that the chemical treatment caused the fibers to deteriorate and crumble in about 5 years. Big lawsuits to repair the damage.

Welcome and WD has started zero rumors about you. Other Rum hounds, not so much. :laughing7: Sounds like you two have some more adventures planned.

Time to check on the SB in Tampa and see if anyone is getting annihilated yet!

ps. In case I neglected to say "Morning all!" earlier, I'll just say Good Evening now.

She doesn’t scare me, I can take her!:laughing9:

Ever hear of the early version of scared straight?
Yup :headbang:we'z all good here now since she straightened us up she did.

There is just nothing worth watching on television anymore. They got this football thing on called the Super Bowl but I already saw it just last year. I hate re-runs.
I love the superbowl! Go team Canada!

Wait, maybe that's a different sport.
