At least you got out Dave

Ya you better polish up the equipment and charge up the battery, put it in the padded carrying case and stick it away until spring. The 5cm of snow is the end-never will it melt-done for-finished-zippo dejecting in 2020.

I'm looking a 5cm of snow, ground temps from a 15C day followed by a 5C Sat. will warm the earths nicely. The rate of snow falling will melt at a rate of 1.45 flakes per 3 flakes falling. Now I'm going out on a limb for this and thinking the 10C with rain next Friday will finish off this white display.
To top it off the 14day forecast shows mainly above temps.

I'm going to say my hand warmers,-50C Baffin boots, toque, insulated coveralls, will be well used into December while I get a hunt or two in.

On the upside you get to try out those winter tires. :headbang:

I hear you Jim, I might try to get out one more time this afternoon.

Colleen is helping Danae with scholarship applications for UBC and The University of Edinburgh this afternoon... so Dad will head out to play.

Hopefully you're able to get out as well.

Morning Bart

Gee here I thought that you were just a masked bandit, hiding.

Me's got it wrong-sun protection-doubling as a personal spittle protector-gone are the days of "Read-my-lips"

Why did the Unknown Comic guy pop into me mind?

Stay safe Bart-and away from the crowds

Packing your own lunch-the body will thank you.

Jim,

Pickle juice is yummy...:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7: mind you only if it's from fermented pickles the old fashioned way not the vinegar commercial ones.

Watch out or 'Pickleman Bill' will get you! :laughing9:

WOW! UOE ?

Here buddy I started you Google search in how much you can get for the water filter.
“If your budget is tight, you can get a kidney for 1.7m rupees ($25,700) in West Bengal. There are local agents who get their supply [donors] from Nepal or Bangladesh. But I don’t do that deal because I want more money,” .

You said it was a belt tightening event this Xmas.

Me thinking you have a lumpy mattress full of Borden browns stuffed in there. Edit: (For those who aren't in the know it's referring to out $100 bill)

Wow. I've rubbed elbows with well off guys in me past-but you came off like a regular working stiff-who knew buddy?:notworthy:

ARC.....its amazing how many tourons have flocked to the keys !! Its crazy busy down here !! Everybody from every part of the country is here right now. Its just that I gotta keep going like I always have.....I can't worry about covid....it looks like it will be with us forever now....if I get it....well then I got it....if I die from it then thats that isn't it. Im just gonna soldier on like I always have. I always wore a mask so ill keep wearing one. The one thing I can do is pack a lunch....I think this is key for me.....the time I interact with people is at lunch in the crowded market at the ocean reef resort. Hundreds of people from every state pack this little market every day at lunch......this is where I will catch it if I do get it......if I pack my lunch I avoid the whole lunch time chit show. This will cut my exposure to the covid snowbirds and be the wisest choice I've ever made. And I'll have a longer lunch break by avoiding the long lunch lines !!

There ya go! That's the spirit! We are in the middle of 2 week vacay. I packed a bunch of meat and canned goods. Anything I could fix with an electric skillet and a microwave. Ended up with a big blow Sunday, so we packed it all back up and went home for a few days. Mr Wd cooked all the meat on the grill and we brought it back up here. Just staying away from society as much as possible.

Me get out?

Me spent till 6:30pm digging trench in berry patch, started at 8:45 am yesterday.

Today is full on running out the fencing, got the de-spooler on the tractor running out the 330ft rolls.

Maybe I'll grab a few hrs Tomorrow AM, on the way back from picking up the frozen hamburger for Max. (Yet to be determined)

Life of a hermit-isn't all that bad.

Stay safe-good to hear the Mr is on grill duty.

Serving you up a nip of rum sauce grilled-while you haves thee feets up resting.:occasion14:

Bart,

Good morning and smart move on your part to pack a lunch. Just checked yesterdays stats Canada had 4,600+ cases the U.S. was 192,000+ which is scary and perhaps an all time high for you folks.

Great!! I will give you my Western Bean recipe. When we had big family Thanksgiving, it was always requested.

Ingredients:

2 large cans (28 oz) Bush’s original baked beans
1 med vidalia onion chopped
1 green pepper chopped
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup packed brown sugar ( more or less to taste)
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tsp yellow mustard

Brown ground beef, onion and pepper together in a large pan. Drain off the grease. Then put everything together in a large pot and heat up. Good stuff.

Many thanks, milady! :notworthy:

And a return of favor. My very own personal recipe for "WIF's Beans" absolute rave reviews by anyone who has ever partook!!

Don't be fooled by its simplistic nature.

1 Large can of Campbell's Baked Beans, (no other brand works as well). A large onion, (type is your choice), chopped into fairly chunky pieces. Two large eggs. Mix well but don't blend.

Put into a pot, uncovered and slowly cook, turning every 15 mins or so. Cook until the consistency is similar to a Mexican "refried beans dish". It should become almost pasty.

Now, that's the base. Don't add any extra spices or items until you try them this way. This is my *favorite* bean dish!!!

Next time? Add whatever your heart desires but I maintain that this dish is *perfect* as is, no need to add!

Bon Apetít!

Mornin all!

I have been told "we" need to go shopping. Bummer.
I've the hindquarters of the deer to cut up first to finish the outside/outdoors work on it. And a wrist that still does not want to work a knife. And yes, I have tried it with my off hand. Not as precise as the other...Not near as precise actually. Precise meaning not stabbing or cutting myself....

Good afternoon RC good luck with the rest of the butchering and try not to do yourselves in with your own knife.....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

Time to get out the electric carving knife? Warm up for Thanksgiving Day? :tongue3:

I just hope they don't shut things down again... that really hurt the state bad... they say they wont... but I and you really know... they cant. heh

Good afternoon WIF.

ARC, Bart, etc....try to keep away from the tourist crowd and stay safe. The infection rates will be sky rocketing with all the influx of snowbirds.
