Bill keeps on sneaking in :P

Morning ARC, Bart, Dave, Rook, Bill

Just a query Bart: Were the waters rough also?

I would of thought a little moisture wouldn't matter if you were diving.....:laughing7:

Got to have bright sunlight pepper......when its overcast its like diving in a dark closet.....you can see, but not that good. Then there's a lightning factor too !! Just not the same vibe at all. And last but not least is the comfort level of the guests.

Yeah and if your like me... I don't not being able to see.

I never have liked surprises... I wanna see it coming :P

Like the time I just stepped onto deck and saw my girls eyes widen as she looked behind me... and for the first time in my entire life I had been face to face with a White shark... and never even knew it was there... BEHIND me within a few feet.

The kicker being... she was HUGE and could have with even a "test bite" totally done me in.

She was definitely "coming in" on me... I had no idea and by pure luck just stepped up ladder.

im a double dipper jim.....i try to take people to treasure sites when im at work.....so we spearfish in areas that im likely to find ship wrecks. This maximizes my exploration time. My job allows me to go to the spots I need to check out....plus my boss is into it now so I go to spots that take alot of gas and miles on his dime and he pays me for the adventure. !! Win win for both of us......we have found a major treasure together once !!

That explains it well-thought you were going solo.:icon_thumleft:

Now the lightning is just a natural electrolyse of any encrusted find-isn't it? :tongue3:

Well I also take comfort that had she taken a swipe at me she would have spit me out due to the fact that I have heard that sharks don't like Rum :P

Maybe I should change my handle from blak bart to.....RUM SHARK !!

That's the best Bart, getting a Boss hooked on exploring sites on his dime. Running the boat = a tad bit of $$$ especially if the site is a distance from home port.

Had a buddy across the road from me that loved to dive on the wrecks in the St Lawrence River.
It was a yearly passion for a week or so-until he went off the back of the boat-he was with a new operator/boat-his lower leg got tangled in the railing rung-snapped it in half!
Now I questioned him on why were you going off the rear railing? "The would-be operator didn't have a platform on the boat."
Poor guy was on crutches operating his diamond saw blade blank machine for nearly a year.

Safety first is a great policy.

Just kinda sucked that since I can remember ... I have always been fascinated with shark... I respect them... I watch for them... seen all types over my life... had several close encounters actually... but that day I was complacent... I never even had the thought of a shark cross my mind... not once did I wonder or think of one.

So it was a shock for she snuck up behind me like that without me even being aware even by instinct that day... I was off... perhaps because I really am at home in the water at times... but then there was the fact I have never seen a white before in the wild.

At first glance I thought it was a huge Bull... but when her eyes rolled and met mine... shock hit me. .. I was in disbelief... and I thought... "that quick".

Arggg still get a chill down my spine when thinking back at it.

I could have almost reached back and touched her nose.

Ok, now I have the scene of swim ladder, Great White Shark, and the theme music of "Jaws".

Gee and they say bears and cougars are dangerous, I'll take them any day over a shark. :laughing7:

I couldn't see... she couldn't see = bad combo.

She was definitely creeping in for a serious check... and we all know how they "check"... and with a mouth like hers her check would have either changed my life... or ended it.

"She's now talking about how nice it would be to paint 3 or 4 of the rooms while we're both home. "

So Dave you never said what color or if your finished yet.
You must be finished by now-right?

ARC all I can say, is that I'm glad we don't have sharks swimming in our freshwater lakes. :tongue3:

As far as your question about painting goes Jim, last week I finished sanding the back deck.
If I can't find a new job by at least the end of October, I'm going to have to put on my painters cap, as Colleen has a 'Honey-do list' as long as my forearm. :laughing7:

Closest encounter with a wild animal was with a large Buck.
I looked up and it was standing there 20ft away tilting his head just trying to figure out the strange creature that had "Grey Ghost" headphones on swinging a detector.
The thing was he had 4-5 females in his care.
I gently took off the headphones and had a gentle chat with him.
If he decided to go for it there wasn't a chance of me hiding behind a tree large enough that the 10 point rack wouldn't reach me.
He just turned, snorted, walked away.
Yup-when detecting we sometimes have no sense of what's going on.
