Me and the missus just spent about 2 hours of peeling and chopping apples for winter apple sauce.

Probably went through about 20 lbs or so of apples from her mom's tree.

We have 2 more bags to process later in the week.No rest for the wicked.....

I went back out and found 4 pennies and 2 big bolts that were probably from the docks when they were pulled. And I was having a run on pull tabs. So I am thinking rook is going to love this! I had 5 in my pouch and hit another so I thought I better dig it so he wouldn’t get mad at me. Low and behold it was a nickel! Whoop whoop! 10 cents today! Does that put me in a higher tax bracket?

Just thought I'd update you all on how I'm progressing with the candlestick finger loop project that I'm turning into a wearable ring.

After spending two days hand filing and sanding down the 'nubs' left on the casting, I decided to tumble-off the black coating left on the metal.
To achieve the colour of the surface metal that I wanted and remove the 'burning on the metal' took five days of tumbling.

I'm fairly certain this ring has been exposed to a fire at some point, as I've seen this type of burnt surface on brass where the house has burnt down.

I've decided that I'm not going to polish this piece any further, I'll just let it patina-down naturally now that the metal has been exposed to the air.
The next step will be to take it to a jeweler to have my initial inscribed on the face.

The last pic is of a candlestick finger loop that I restored and left the verdigris on in 2012, I'll get the same style 'K' inscribed on this ring.
