Morning peeps !! Dave....don't feel bad about your busted day of detecting.....mine was a bust too. I now know why I found 6 golds at the other spot. Because all the other hunters were here at this spot. I spent about 5 hours in the water with the eqx. Within the first 5 mins. I could see the holes in the bottom. You try and convince yourself its just fish making holes while they feed. ( they do that) The whole underwater spot had been uprooted by more than one hunter and probably over 3-4 hunts. Thousands of holes in the bottom. Don't think it was locals because they did not remove the trash....just the jewels. There was a beer cap next to every hole. I was not skunked .... but I was only getting the smalls that the eqx is good at getting. But those big multiple golds were gone already !! Thats life in South florida.....lots of competition. Strategy and careful observation and monitoring of the spots is whats needed to get a jump on the competition. I will now flex my dominance over the other spot by showing up regular and beating them to the punch. Now I'm the one who left the other spot pock marked and barren.....the competition will say dang it...that black bart has already been here and cleaned it out. And I have. And only I know where I've stopped and started. Looks like I'm king dog of the best spot and pat and the others have shifted to the next best spot. Glad these guys aren't hunting the spanish......thats a whole nother ball game....a lonely road of very few finds that most don't have the patience for. It was beautiful and peaceful.....but eventually there were 30 boats anchored up loosing some more jewelry !!
