Jim,

Good morning great looking black raspberries. We picked some last night and I'm off later to pick some wild ones at a couple of patches in the area.

Dave,

Good luck with the packing and trip and enjoy yourselves....time to get one of them fancy roof carriers for the gear.

I feel that I should probably share this with all of my friends here on Tnet... but I was permanently laid-off by my company on Tuesday.
I've been with this company on and off for over 20 years, so at the age of 56, I'm not challenged with looking for a new career path... good thing I own a detector! :laughing7:

My company took the opportunity to lay off two others in my same position as well... one guy in Atlantic Canada and one guy out in Alberta.
The company is saying this is due to the down turn of construction equipment sales here in Canada due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

So this is the reason why I no longer have my 2019 GMC Sierra, my company cell phone and laptop.

Thankfully, we booked and paid for our cottage rental back in January, because I really need some downtime now to think about what I'm going to do next.
This has been a real sh_tty year for us, as my wife lost her job in March due to COVID, we also lost our dog Lilly in May and now I've lost my job. :sadsmiley:

We certainly have some financial challenges ahead of us.
But as one of my long time customers reminded me... "From sh_t grows flowers"!

That's a lot of crap to deal with over this past few months.
I know it hasn't been the greatest times for sure.
Look at this way your ship has sailed some pretty stormy waters lately. There's calmer waters now ahead for you and the family.
Have a great holiday buddy, enjoy the breather.

Dave,

Sorry to hear you and the missus are going through a hard patch career wise. I wish I had an easy answer but unfortunately not it was quite evident from the get go that covid was going to do a number on large parts of the economy.

Since you're in the heavy equipment field could your skill sets be converted to farm equipment or long haul trucks would assume high demand for both those equipment types these days.

In any event enjoy the holiday and time for some reflection on your best options going forward.

Well we've started the process of packing for our cottage rental next week... we leave tomorrow morning.
We all have lists of 'stuff' to bring, the real challenge will be squeezing three of us and all of our 'stuff' into our 2018 Hyundai Kona for a 3hr drive up north. :laughing7:

I sure do miss my 2019 GMC Sierra pickup right now. :sadsmiley:

Dave really how much room does the Thong bathing suit, Banana hammock( yours), and the full armour plated
Don't Be Looking At My Daughter bathing suit take?:laughing7:

Finally I made it to current post times!!!

Sorry for your loss Idaho, prayers said.

WD belated Happy Birthday! Rum will have to wait. When I took off me corset the rum room key didn't come with it, I will have to do a little prying to get it unstuck...lasting impressions!

RR glad you fixed your breathing problem, now you can whistle at the girls.

Antiquarian enjoy your vaca, you & missed need some R&R (not Rusty, but take him too if you want). You have job talent, you just need to find a connection that can help you get work. Put the word out there you never know from where help will come, or in what form. Prayers for you and yours.
