The Many Lost Treasures of Mariposa, CA (Photos Added)

You R Here!! (lol)...........It's not so much a pay now collect later plan, than it's a commitment to pay $25.00 when the book is ready to be submitted to the publishers. This way, I'll know how much I 'should' have to work with for a better price. So, all you need do is stop in here and announce that you would like to help.

Well then consider me #20 on your list!

hey eagle not sure if i ever confirmed but you can put me down as a yes for that book of yours. ill be awaiting eagerly the release and if its as big a success as i know it will be then maybe you should throw a release party lol. KFC and pepsi anyone? lol

Eagle down,

Just wanted to take a moment to offer up my thanks and appreciation for your fine stories. As a "tenderfoot" your stories bring a lot of insperation and motavation to just get out there and look. Get out there and see what you can see. I don't know that I can really explain just what kinda impact your stories had on me. My current feverish condition can be "blamed" on two people. Tom Massey and You. Serious thanks to you Sir. Oh and you can definatly mark me down as a definate buyer of your book. Having those stories in hard print would be too cool for words.

Really? You expect ME to remember what you've done?? (lol)

Well, never mind, I'll just put you down as #22. (I picked up #21 last night).

Thank you my Friend!!

It has been in a jewelers bag and don't know how old it is. Most likely over 10 yrs out of water. I live in east texas and am finding it difficult to find someone who is willing to cut it. Do you know of anyone who could cut this. Or would it be worth selling it in it's raw state?

Thank you My Friend!! For the reassuring comments, as well as the book pre-order.

Your book makes #28

The only way I would be able to give you an honest assessment of the condition and value of the stone would be with a hands-on study of it. I have had a couple of Tnet members send me stones to cut and polish, (including a thumb size piece of black precious opal). So, if you feel you can trust me, let me know and i will pm you my mailing address.

Traditionally, Precious opal gains in value once it is shaped and brought to a fine polish. But, there are also exceptions to the rule. So, as said, I would have to hold and study it before I would offer an in depth analysis of the stone. It also takes a decent 'scope to see into the opal to check for cracks or inclusions.

Anyway, I'd be more than happy to fully check it out for you. Just let me know.

Halito My Friends,

Sorry to take so long to get back to you, but, I just got home from the VA Hospital Sat. afternoon, (for the third time since June 3rd.).

I had woke up about 2am feeling as though I was suffocating. After about an hour of it becoming progressivly worse, I dialed 911 and had an ambulance ride to Fresno. (35 miles South). Seems that I developed a bad case of "congestive heart failure". I was allowed to come home a couple of times, but after a couple of nights, suffered a relapse and was rushed back in. Unfortunately, during the days home, all I had energy for was sleep. (lol) I came into the thread two or three times to answer a couple of posts, then would fall asleep (sometimes) while answering them. (lol)

Anyway, I haven't wanted anyone of you to worry, so, I've put this post off for a couple of days, not being sure of how to go about it without worrying anyone. I am hokay right now and will continue to be hokay as long as I can keep my blood pressure up enough to pump the fluids out of my heart and lungs. (lol)

In any case, I'm doing much better this time around. So please don't worry, of course, prayers are always welcome, as are cash donations. (lol)

My heart-felt thanks to a Friend who suggested that I get off of my A** and explain to you, just the way I explained to him.

If I keep on improving the way I have over the last 3 days, I'll be back on the book within a week. (lol)

Love and Respect,

Eagle

Incidentally, if any of my Brothers and Sisters out there have any recipes for LOW SODIUM/LOW CHLORESTERAL meals they would like to share with an elder who has to do his own cooking, copies pm'ed to me would be most appreciated. I'm kinda lazy, so they need to be quick and easy. (lol) Actually, I'm a pretty good cook, but this type of cooking is totally new to me, so I have to be able to read the recipe while I'm cooking. (lol)

I have freezer full of chicken quarters, now I need to talk to someone about venison, as deer is just about devoid of chloresteral. (Actually, a deer has no gall bladder, so I don't think it has any chlor..

You had us worried there brother eagle. glad to hear your okay. me being of Mexican descent i too have to worry about heart disease. that is why I've learned to love a bowl of oatmeal in the morning. the best thing about it is that it can be flavored and prepared to your taste. it can be made thinner or thicker and goes great with almost any fruit or chopped nuts. me personally i add a spoonful of brown sugar, a dash of vanilla extract, and a good sprinkle of cinnamon. it tastes great and has a huge health benefit in lowering bad cholesterol while leaving the good cholesterol alone. i dont have any recipes for low sodium but a little trick i do to reduce using oils in cooking is when i pan fry chicken i use lemon juice instead of oil. it flavors the chicken and on the right heat setting it helps to prevent food from sticking. as the chicken cooks its natural fat is released which then is used to keep it from sticking. this also helps the flavoring as you dont need to add much in seasonings to it because it absorbs a good lemon flavor(you can also use limes).

I hear a nice sassy nugget in your pan would get your heart pumping. I wouldn't know but I hear it.

Take care my friend.

Hi Eagle,

Happy to hear you're on the rebound! Take it easy, rest up and get better. I wish I could help you out with some diet recommendations, but according to my doctor, I have virtually no cholesterol...... good or bad.... go figure. At 54 though, I do have to manage my high blood pressure and my COPD...... I can't hike up or down hills anymore. The venison sounds like a good idea, and I understand that bison/buffalo is also good for a "lower-cholesterol-than-beef" diet, just in case you can't pass up on the steak.

I was thinking about you today as I was going through some tailing samples I collected at the Marble Springs Mine a couple of months ago (after you went there). One sample in particular stood out, so I busted it up and, lo and behold, there was a bit of free gold in it! Maybe you can live vicariously through these pics until you're able to get out and about again...... I'm still interested in getting together soon and kicking some dirt around.

Best regards,

Rick

Now I have to go back to town to get some lemons/limes. Thanks for the suggestion Brother. Unfortunately, the cayenne peppers I grow, don't quite cut it in making me forget about salt. (lol)

Hmm, larger then the 3 small specks that I found. But, a good indication of which type ore to check out. I would like to see it in person, and get a really good photo of it. Perhaps we'll have the opportunity to get together before long. I do seem to be feeling better every day.

Thanks My Friend!!
