Swamp Gold

If anyone is interested in solving the Civil War buried gold mystery, with such a large search area, maybe they should concentrate on finding the junction of 2 small creeks (in 1864).. But it wont be easy as the area has changed so much.

OLD maps of Florida WOULD help... HOWEVER! PROBABLY on REZ "land", now.

Living the life.
The government shut down has affected my job and I am not getting paid at this time but waiting to go back to work. In the meantime I cannot trespass on federal property of the swamp (Everglades National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve). So I cannot work, hunt, fish, canoe, hike or explore until the govt re-opens..

It is very probable that Charles Christopher Johnson, who married Charles Greenleigh McKinney's daughter,Lilly Lee(McKinney servered under CSA Major Mornelin and CSA Capt Hendry at CSA Fort Meade and knew the story first hand)may have found that lost gold.Johnson did have a scam of coating silver dollars with gold-where did he get that gold? Also,Mel Fisher consulted with Johnson on several south Florida treasure legends, but Fisher never pursued the lost Confederate gold in the Everglades legend.

It is a shame that Congress plays party games that effect the lives of the people they were elected to serve.
Hope all works out well for you,BCH.

Sorry to hear the news. I trust things will turn around soon. Best of luck.

Hello again BCH. Dog is hiding out I believe.

I am not hiding. I read the posts but choose not to share my adventures on here. We will be going to the reservation soon. I have a GPR expert on my team. There is WAY more to the story.

Good to see that you are still on the hunt. You mentioned that your show was not sold to any networks,do you have any footage that you can share on TN?
Hope you find something at "Cloud Mountain",but keep in mind,Mel Fisher considered the CSA Everglades a tall tale after talking with Charles Christopher Johnson. HH

I have footage from a couple of recent digs. I am not ready to share any of it. It does not matter what Mel Fisher thought about this treasure. I have stated numerous times that the gold that I think is buried at Cloud Mountain could have come from many possible sources. It is possible that it was buried by a member of the tribe. A lot has transpired in the recent past but NOTHING that I have seen, read, or heard has changed my belief in the least little bit. In fact, I am more convinced then ever that there is gold buried beneath Cloud Mountain. The Miccosuki's are waiting for my next move. I am presently preoccupied is all that I will say.

As far as the show goes, I have a feeling it will not happen. To be honest that would probably be for the best. I did not like the direction they were wanting to go. For the record, they contacted me. People on TN have said that the producers of the shows try to make you look like an idiot. The "sizzle/trailer" that was produced certainly did not make me look the way I would have wanted it to. I was also given the chance to fake things which I said from the start that I absolutely would not do.

In the past I would have been glad to share my story but because of the way some of the TN members behave, I don't need the grief or third degree.

Whatever happened to capt bill or whomever said there was an even bigger treasure in florida that Nobody knew about?

Never left. Sometimes it is better to talk less, listen more.

You sure learn more and catch less flak that way. Welcome anyway. Doesn't cost much to post every now and then.

Thanks for the links ECS. Interesting Florida history.
A first hand account of CSA and Union activities on the St Johns River, including skirmishes, gun boat & blockade captures, scuttled and sunk are contained in the memoirs of CSA Pvt Jasper Jackson Dykes of Welatka, who served with Hopkins 4th Volunteer Regiment and later under CSA Capt J J Dickison's 2nd Florida Cavalry.
