Swamp Gold

I heard something about camel backs..Have you seen camel back hills at the forks of a river?

A hummock shaped like a camel's back is mention in one version of the lost Confederate gold in the Everglades legend, and has been discussed on this thread many times.
Start reading on page 28,and work forward, all the variations are mentioned, plus several real historical events that may have been used to create the Swamp Gold story.

Looking through the old posts for information on the 1856 Military Map of Florida (I just found a copy of a 1975 reprint with a modern map overlay) I saw a mention of Jose Gaspar.

I started a new thread on him a couple of weekw ago. I very much doubt any South Florida treasure will be found that he buried.

Good luck to all,

~The Old Bookaroo

Never left. Sometimes it is better to talk less, listen more.
Maybe...but its more fun when you post.

Myself I am not treasure hunting but I have have been working and living in the swamp and having a blast. Its nice to have a job that I lov and I love the Big Cypress swamp. Hope to be here til April.

Think about RR and the Kincade Cattle Co. and the trail between two forts. I beleive one trasure of the three buried is still left. And there you have it.

I need someone to come forward that has access to 3-D Imaging Ground Penetrating Radar and knows how to use it. I still believe I may know the location of a pile of gold. It is on the reservation. I have permission to search and dig. I have a friend that is a member of the Miccosuki tribe. He believes this treasure may exist. All the clues and research continue to lead me to the same place. I had a person come forward in the past that may not have been totally honest about things. We don't want to deal with these types. My Miccosuki pal is waiting for me to come up with a plan to try to pinpoint and be more sure that we are digging in the right place. It may not be a simple dig. If any one reading this believes in the existence of this treasure and can help, please PM me.

Hello everyone. I hope you all are well. Myself I am fine working here in the Everglades region.

Good to hear from you BDD. Good idea on the GPR.

ECS, I have talked to a few decendants but it was all quite by accident as I am no longer pursuing the buried gold mystery. However my quest for knowlege and my love for history continues.

lonnie what RR? Who is the Kincade Cattle Co?
