I found this weird rock today. I though it may be ambergris but it isnt flammable. It does have a strange smell and feels greasy on the shiny yellow/green parts. I held a lighter's flame to it and after a couple seconds it made a popping sound. Some parts have a bubbly bone marrow like appearance

Welcome to TreasureNet
A photograph will be very helpful - but from what you describe it sounds like a lump of tallow which is fatty kitchen waste.
What sort of odour does it have?

Cheers, Mike

Maybe petrified poo. Did you wash your hands when you finished handling it?

Hi.Ambergris is sometimes difficult to identify....so I'm told. The fact it bubbled is a good sign. The better test is to heat a wire to red hot and sink it into the rock. There is a Youtube video on how to identify Ambergris that shows this technique. Look at many photos of actual stuff to see if yours resembles any others! Good luck!
