I made a trip to Lasal Utah to do a little side job, which I agreed I'd do for the right price. I'm being asked what it take to get me back in the game, but I'm done with the full time working life on the road and told them I just can't get my head back into all the aggravation that goes along with that type of work. Went into a Uranium mine as the demand for it is having a surge. Got some me some high grade radioactive U235 for my collection. It was also a great time to visit the fall scenery in that region.

I bought a truck down in Lewis Colorado in March from a guy that’s working at that uranium mine out there. He said they were really starting to ramp it up out there. Good to see that mines are going on like that we need more.

I've never seen raw uranium before. In that 2nd to last pic, what color is the uranium ore? What's painted over with gold, or is it all of those?

Indeed it is. Hopefully the prices will maintain the demand for even more mines to open.

The gold looking stuff is more of a light brown rusty appearance which is uranium oxide. I was told they chase seems of a long ago river delta deposit that were full of organic dense jungle debris such as dead leaves and rotting trees. I guess these deposits somehow became rich in uranium. They use this drill to prob the deposit as it pretty much meanders one way or the other as the ancient river flowed. Drilling ahead helps them determine the direction they need to follow. They also produce a byproduct of vanadium from these deposits.

I remember, grandpa telling us about them finding petrified trees that were full of uranium out in the desert they used to go in cash in on. Underground they used to like to find that stuff called pitch blend. They really knew them that they were on the mineralization

They got you at the face running the drill buddy.

I’m not that familiar with that high grade radioactive uranium..do you need proper PPE to handle
