Season 4

as for the Coin. Don't be surprised if Someone Brings it to the
Island claiming a Long dead relative found it in the pit .
and the Brothers act like it really happened.
because I'm sure they would pull that kind of crap.

I seem to recall in the previews for next week them showing someone running a metal detector over the junk they pulled out of the hole. Of course, it looked like the stuff was sitting in the bucket of the front end loader so I don't know how well that would work. Of course, that doesn't mean they found the coin there, though.

I didn't see the Coin. Just what I read here.
All I saw was a wrinkled piece of metal &
think I heard some woman say "part of a Treasure Chest" :tongue3:
& I x'd out & deleted as I thought "yea Right. teaser for next season" :tongue3:

Good job alec :notworthy:, Nolan's Cross is a big clue, now lets see if they can figure out the rest. O Ya, the goofball that owns the island wants Marty and Rick to dig up his Island, WHY:dontknow: No one can keep what they find down under, the government gets it all. The Oak Island Treasure Permit is only good on land and at Oak Island ONLY. Not good in the water around the island or under in some tunnel.

Yeah, if the gold coin is not discovered at the 4th dig site, I can't imagine this show being renewed for next season. Heck, even Marty seems to think there are no more leads. If the main guy running the operation is running out of ideas of where to look next, why should the audience have any more faith in anything being found next season?

There was both a coin shown as well as some piece of metal that was supposedly used in treasure chests.

I'm not sure they really want to listen to a reasonable way of finding anything. I have e-mailed Rick and sent him diagrams and maps showing how the cross works (in my opinion), also assuring him in writing that my information was free, no strings attached and they could use it in any way they see fit however they have apparently tossed it to the way side and chose to ignore it. They aren't treasure hunters in the sense that they are using clues to find anything. They are just like the others that have come an gone, trying to get to the bottom of the money pit but they don't know where that is now. They have the technology to get there now but they are just shooting in the dark hoping they hit something. It's an expensive way to hunt but it seems to make good TV if you work at the History Channel. I'm sure the History Channel has a lot to do with what we see on the show and the parade of people with all of their theories for on and off the island, that's how they work but the Laginas don't seem to be interested in actually working the clues and getting to the bottom of things, so to speak.

Yea 90 % of the season was not Hunting anyway.
It was trips to other places, Interviews with other People.
Talk & Speculation :(

it's getting Really hard to label it a Treasure Hunting show.
and the reason I'm thinking of Shelving it like I did the Gold Show With the Fat Bearded guy.

Time for something New.

Moving back to this episode..

The dating of the wood is interesting. It would seem to support that (IF) the pit was really dug by treasure hiders then the British military seems to be the ones that fit those dating ranges. I personally cannot see why the British military would of buried a treasure there and not recovered it. I suppose there may be some remnants of treasure left in the hole if it really was a massive hoard ie the looting of Havana spoils. The old "oak" log was interesting in that it is the first "possible" evidence that in anyway supports that the pit did actually exist.

I suppose it is possible that the old wood could of been lying around the island and used by treasure searchers later. Still if the carbon dating is correct these pieces of wood are well pre treasure searchers efforts.

I do not think that Marty and Rick are planting evidence. The very lack of anything they have found in 4 seasons to me shows they are not faking there evidence.

What do people think of the stone that there 'experts' claim must of been in some way 'shaped' by man ie the smooth part on the bottom of the granite rock. Could this flatness have been caused by glacial action or broken of in the past.

I have always "sort of" felt Nolans cross was just a bit of a coincidence and wishful thinking.

I did feel for Marty last night. You could see he just did not know what to say to Rick. I felt he agreed to the last hole just to make his brother happy and not because he believed they would find anything...

Overall I thought last nights episode was pretty good on balance. It certainly showed the high and lows that can be reached when searching for possible 'lost' treasure. Rick is also a great example of someone who has 'treasure fever' and cannot see the truth through the gold hazed dreams he has....

I'm thinking of Shelving it like I did the Gold Show With the Fat Bearded guy.

Ha ha my friend... with just one more episode stay with us... Even if they find nothing the 4 seasons of watching need to see the conclusion...

I have e-mailed Rick and sent him diagrams and maps showing how the cross works (in my opinion).
I imagine he gets hundreds of emails with people giving him all types of advise. He probably just bins the lot.... Everyone has a theory...

I came across someone who read the journal of one of the first diggers. Might have been heddon? Not sure cant recall.
But they mention that they had already got to these chambers and found nothing. The same chambers they are in right now. And touched on the idea of once they hit the 90ft stone. They where ment to dig outwards in some direction. Not continue down.

No man made chambers exist.....only natural grotto's carved out by water....

yeah, how many episodes can you watch where nothing is found? just metal detecting the surface has produced the most

The TV show has given us more than enough info to solve this hunt yet no one did it :BangHead:. AS Rick said lets sit down and look at this again. NO I do not think their is a Templar Treasure on Oak Island now, but it would be nice if we could answer what was there and why. The Zena papers are real and so is a lot of the info they showed on the show , by next week they will add another part of info that will help solve this hunt . When the TV show is done then I will show you some info that will end this hunt :hello2:

With your claim that you actually found a Templar vault and grave site yet were unable to provide any proof when pressed, I will have difficulty in giving any credence to any of your other claims unless absolute proof is provided. We do not need any more hot air coming from the area of oak island...

You mean like the time Rick looked out in the bay and spotted a rock with a hook'ed "X" immediately from 20 yards away? This was the one where it looked like it was carved yesterday.

I have always "sort of" felt Nolans cross was just a bit of a coincidence and wishful thinking.

I totally agree. Especially "the carved face stone".

I heard or read that as well. Go down 90' and then tunnel sideways to the Templar goodies!!

If ya missed the episode I did a quick summary a page back to help those who like to discuss but get disgusted by watching. I am on the edge right now but can wait for the last episode and then we will see if I can watch anymore.

Ratings , commercials and the mighty $$$ all have to factor on the show and seasons. It is wearing pretty thin and a 5th season would be quite the stretch!

I am sure they get tons of mails, calls and other offers for help. Not to say your ideas might be bad. Who and why they show and follow some of the wacky ideas and theories can be questionable but the network prob dictates what is done/followed/shown.

Next Tues we will all go:headbang: :hello2: or ??? :BangHead:

seems obvious to me they must be loosing Viewers.
when they go on the Late night talk shows to
find replacement Viewers in the sea of celebrity watchers.

I don't know. Everyone is going to watch the last show to see if they find anything. They may be trying to up viewing rates to get bigger cut of advertising revenue. It may also be an existing part of there contract with history channel to do such promotions.

I cannot really see any appetite for another 10+ episode series. I am hoping they will wrap it up in the last 90 minute special..

I think Marty has had a gut full and wants to get it over with.

yea I would like to see it end.
I will watch the Last episode.
But it seems Obvious to me, If all season they get a Big Goose egg & when it is time to
set things up for another season they pull off this 11th hour save the ship Type find.
I'm calling it B.S. :skullflag:

Not always but most of the time a show is either canceled or renewed before the last current season show has aired. It is filmed 4-6 months in advance.. They may not make the announcement of the cancellation or renewal till after the current season of course. Kinda doubt they are pinning their hopes on just the last show to get them another season...
Plus I had posted last week or so with a link ( post No. 918 ) in this thread that they actually win the weekly nelson ratings for cable network tv...

A gold coin? Could this be evidence of a 5th season??

Some old lady will probably bring it to the island and say that her grandfather, William Chappel found it in the money pit but kept it a secret. She will then pull out a map that was clearly drawn 10 days ago on HP paper and claim it's 300 years old and pinpoints the actual location of the money pit. Marty will roll his eyes, but will give-in to Rick after he starts sobbing over this amazing news. Season 5 will start with the crew sacrificing one of there own to the island to break the 7 dead curse. My guess is that Jack will be the lucky recipient of this great honor.
