Hutton Pulitzer's theory (he's been on the show a couple of times) is that perhaps any chamber that lies beneath the Money Pit was not created via a vertical excavation, but was dug horizontally. If sea level has been rising over the years, going back in time one might reach a point where the water level is a couple of hundred feet lower than it is today.
Found a theory for the oak platforms
... Now they have the "Roman sword". Another plant discussed earlier on here.
They brought in the "sword" ? OMG, I'm going to have to find the episode and watch it so I can laugh my arse off!!!
lol... I do know what you mean. That was the worst episode this season. That ark theory was worse then the Aztec one. Another looney they have dug up that wants to get on the telly. You're assuming that there were oak platforms. Theorizing about their purpose when there's no material evidence to support their existence is putting the cart before the horse, no?
The way they staged it for next week they show it after a "big" metal detector hit to make the audience think it was found there. More trickery by the producers.
Is it me, or did it look like none of the piping had been removed from 10x on last nights episode?
Good point, I noticed that as well, but it didn't dawn on me.
BTW, for the amount of first-time posters in this thread you do have to admit there is something about this mystery that pulls people in!
Belief based on proof is logic. Belief not based on proof is fantasy. It's important to understand the difference.

That underwater stone triangle was a big letdown. The one that got the most camera time did not look much like the sonar scan (on sonar it looked much more defined), and the bigger rock was completely covered in plants so we could not see its shape. Boo.
As for the teased Roman sword, I have serious doubts. Fake decorative swords can be found on ebay that look almost exactly the same. Unless they can prove it's really ancient I would not go "all in" on that item.
