Anybody been out recently?
Meep, when you making your way to the desert?

I got quick 2 hours at east fork a week or so back. Not nearly long enough but pulled almost identical as last time. Trying to see if i have enough steam to drive up this Friday/Saturday morning and give the hole a proper dig.

Headed to the new home away from home Tuesday this week. Work til Thursday then have a few days off.

Glad to hear you're getting the gold. Been busy last couple weeks and this coming weekend is screwed too.... Might try local on sun?
Making plans for EF, for sat the 17th. I will be hiking in to 3.5 mile and taking some goodies with me to camp savage. Should be a good day!

HOLY SH1T!!! San Diego is on mo foing fire!! 11 different fires with camp Pendleton being the largest at 6500 acres. 30 houses burned, schools and business closed and hundreds maybe thousands of homes evacuated. Y'all stay safe!

Keep your distance or buy some marshmellows......

Ahhh yes... The annual "Let's burn down S. Cal Party"

Up north they know it's spring when the swallows return to San Juan Capistrano. In San Diego they know it's spring when the fire bombers return to Ramona! Sad but true as I lived there for many MANY years.

I'm heading out to the claim for what may well be the last long trip until the monsoons are over out here. While I have no problem working in the rain, I don't think I want to get myself turned into a lightning rod!!!!! Will be out there from the 17th till the 25th if anyone gets a wild hair........

BTW..... Have you and Brandon gotten around to checking out those areas off Old Julian Hwy yet?

Jeff, we still haven't sampled any of his family property. I did find out a have a family friend in the estates, with a dry creek on their property, I also need to sample. Been to busy and to hot for me to get out in a while, but I'm driving to EF this afternoon. Hiking in to 3.5 tomorrow. Hoping for some good fines, and hopefully a picker or two.

Have fun, be safe and heavy pans!

Thanks Kevin! Gonna be a long but great day! Tomorrow is kind of a recon mission, for me to assess the hike. Planning overnight camping trips to follow. I'll post some pics on Sunday.

good luck and good gold Dan! It's looking like 100 + temps out here so I might fry what few working brain cells I have left. Got enough fluids to float a small battleship and shade tarps to go up over the work areas. long as we have a breeze I might make it out with some living brain cells. ;)

Had a great day yesterday. Found a little gold, and I do mean a little! Didn't even take any gold pics. It would seem, we learned on our way out, that we should have in fact been on the other bank of the river to be on the streak. Doesn't matter had a blast, enjoyed the hike although it seemed MUCH longer on the way out! :-) Met some pretty awesome people up there, and have open invites to dig with a few guys who KNOW that river an stay on the gold. Next trip will be an overnighter, just lose too much time hiking 3.5 miles each way. Beautiful weather and can't beat the scenery.

Sure looks pretty out there! Thanks for sharing the pics.

YW Kevin. It is a very beautiful and diverse canyon, with lots of critters too. The last pic I posted, I took on the hike out. See that big as$ rock on the right side? I've got plans to dig behind and under that bad boy on the next trip. ;-)

Cool! Dig a big hole so it falls in, then get whatever's under it too! Just don't be there when it goes over!!

Must be nice prospecting where there is scenery, water and plenty of gold. Why couldn't we have a place like that down here, cool pics Dan

Looks like a place I used to fish at the bottom of the grade on the road to Big Bear

Ya Joe, I might have to take a fly rod in there with me. Lots of native rainbow and brookies, most under 8", but a few nice fish in there. Trout ala aluminum foil and campfire is hard to beat.
