Buddy, if it is a "protection" thing, how can it be that it is not allowed to sell or buy old german sorts?? Is just modified stuff now good for us?

in my opinion - and this is obvious - it is made to "protect" companies incomes like Monsanto and Beyer! The farmers here in germany was forced to buy genetic modified seed that works only one time! So they are not able to store any seed to use it the next year. So they MUST buy again this Monsanto crap again!

The Governments (and also the companies) NEVER do something for the people but every time against them! It´s all about making the most possible profit.

They do what ever they can to let old sorts disappear and at the same time this Gen-companies gets more and more patent pending´s on food.

It was for the people because so many people back in the 80s where buying one product and it turns out it was not what they where buying. The law only applies to private consumers without a registered farm.

Sort of like going to the city outdoor market, I am sure your nearest city has one once or twice a week; and some fool is selling Bio-eggs, and all of a sudden a bunch of egg boxes from Aldi fall out of the back of his van. The age old story of German markets.

Nothing prevents farmers or private people storing seeds to use for next year.

I will agree that often Germany seems to find ways to screw their people more than help them, but this one actually does protect the consumer.

Remember the promise that it would be signed into law that fuel prices would never go over 130 per liter, yeah that lasted like two weeks. Was in Germany not long ago and paid two euro a liter. thats 9 USD a gallon, now stick that into a Bent Continental GT rental car that gets uses about 25 liters per hundred kilometers.

But when I drove through Switzerland to get down to Italy I paid 3 euro per liter on the autobahn, in Italy only paid 1,19.

I want stone. Although I doubt anyone is gonna come see me lol. I just had this vision of a stone crypt in the woods surrounded by an iron fence. My casket on a low platform inside. But my relatives would lose the keys anyway
