What?
Anyway, although you went to the dark side and got some cats, I was going to say my dogs are like family and losing one is horrible. But I always got another because I look at it as giving another dog a good home. Even knowing it will hurt when they pass.
My brother is a cat lady lol
I don't mind cats but I love dogs.

I still want the flying sub !! I cant believe there not for sale yet.

Forgot to post that one. I'm with you Bart on the flying sub. The Seaview was neat, but my favorite parts were when they broke out the flying mini sub. :icon_thumleft:

I wanted a small plane. Somehow I missed the flying sub show. Probably watching Lost In Space.

the only problem with this thread is too many posts, I don't have time to read everything you post each day

Hillbilly Prince, I had dogs all my life. Cats were to unsocialable. They want attention on THEIR terms. But with Simon passing I just did not feel like trying to replace him. One reason would be whatever I got would have to fill some very big shoes and I might be unfair in judging him with the standards Simon had set. I had a very good friend that raises and shows White German Shepherds all over the U.S. and even Canada. She immediately offered to give me one of hers. But I couldn't do it as it just seemed wrong. When Simon was alive, I had wanted to get a black German Shepherd to go along with him, but that didn't happen. I go back to the Animal Rescue League and what a coincidence that they have both a pure white cat and a pure black cat and they were both designated as "Bonded Buddies" meaning they grew up together and must be adopted as a pair. I adopted them and never looked back. No, they are not a dog, but they have similar and yet very different qualities. I still miss Simon very much as I do Max, but I have learned new "Respect" for cats and have seen first hand their powers and abilities. They both can be an invalueable part of our lives. People who only like dogs, I can understand that. People that only like cats, I can understand that too. Cats are picky, but I guess it depends on their upbringing. As I said before, Sneakers can act like she is part dog. They have opened my mind up to being more open minded on everything in my life. I use to bring work home and be downstairs in my office working on sales figures, items and inventory to stock, editing pictures for the company website and it could be stressful. Sneakers would come downstairs and jump into my lap and start to pur and then fall asleep. I learned from her that when she did this, it was MY cue to stop and take a break. Pets, whether they be cat or dogs, are beneficial to our lives. Since this post is so long I guess it's a sure thing Jeff won't be reading it.

I have casually glanced at this possibility. I do like Huskies and these only grow to about 13" tall.

Not me!! Every vehicle I've ever owned has been bubble gummed together!! Push out of the driveway because reverse was out, one had a hole in the drivers floor if you hit a puddle you got a bath straight up through the floor, jump start, wiring problems, intermittent motor stalls, etc etc...

What I'm getting at? I know better than to push my luck with a plane because one that I could afford would be like my vehicles!!!!!:laughing7:

Honestly though...I do think it would be cool to restore something really early if I had the money. I'm fascinated with some of the motors.

You'd have the money had you not sold off ALL those coins. Much like me and my old cars. Had I hung on to some of them, I could have retired. Wait, I am retired :icon_scratch: Unbelievable what we let slip though our hands Nitric. :BangHead:

Actually, when we had a little money, we still lived like we do now....for the most part. Food was better! Did a lot of partying. We bought some better clothes here and there but for the most part nobody knew and she still bought clothes at thrift stores for us. We even lived in a dump of a house...I have two highlights that made me feel awesome at the time. One was a neighbor was mad and yelling something about us broke hillbilly's etc..etc.. In front of the whole neighborhood. We had more in one safe than his house was worth, not that it really matters but...I could look at him and smile!"yes, your right!":laughing7: Another time made her feel awesome!! She has a Grandmother from France that is loaded, she never really wanted anything to do with my wife because of her moms background. When we got older we stopped by and visited a few times because my wife wanted to get to know her. The subject of watches came up, Her grandmother said.."well? Have you guys even ever heard of Patek Phillippe?" My wife smiled and said "Sure, I think we have one of ours in the trunk of the car.". Her Grandmother just looked at her and said"you have one in the trunk"....My wife went and got it out of the trunk of this rusted out buick Century that we were driving. Her Grandmothers Jaw dropped! Priceless and we still laugh about it today!! It wasn't a super high priced one but around 9 to $11,000. :laughing7:

There were times we could have went and bought new cars, we just didn't care. :laughing7: We also tied some of it up in land.

But Yes, If I would have been smarter and not made a few choices that I did ? We would have it and probably would have kept growing. A couple bad choices in business partners, not working for a few years, trying to pay med bills because I didn't believe in the "new insurance" wiped most of it out. I sure showed them!! :laughing7:

Good Times .:icon_thumleft:

I worked 60+ hours a week to try and get us to a point that we could enjoy retirement. Then my dad passed away and it was like hitting a lottery. It was sad as I would have given all of it and anything else to have my parents back. Having money did NOT guantee happiness. Everything has been put into our kids names so as to take a little stress off them for the future. We live very conservatively also.
