So I spent one day in newyork on the farm exploring a hidden room of the farm house cellar. We are still figureing out the mystery. When this spot was first found it took a week of moving stone and breaking concrete. When you could stick a light in the hole, we were rewarded with a hidden room !! It had an ancient still that was still in working condition. There were 4 large oak barrels, a 5 gallon glass carboy filled with the finest hooch,50 -100 bottles for filling with moonshine. My aunt found this spot a couple years ago and it was th main reason for me going up there. There is money in here some where. I searched where I could and found another area of disturbed plaster with a uv light. We opened up a small hole in the back of the hidden room and found a tunnel from the cellar to the outside. AFter moving the wood pile outside the house I found a capstone with 2 horse shoe handles used to lift it and gain entrance to the still room. This is one of the coolest things ive ever been involved in and you can feel that there has to be a stash in or around this root cellar. There is still a lot of stuff to clear out , and there working on getting it cleared so we can do a thorough sweep next time. There has been a thin cap of concrete poured over the dirt floor, so ill have to crack some if there is a reason to dig. I can feel the silver dollars hidden in here some where. My aunt would not permitt me to post any pics but ill sneak some on when I can. Definitely a prohibition era operation from the age of the bottles. All were early machine made crown tops green in color. And yes my aunt and here friends drank every drop of shine and enjoyed it very much.
