Tom/Bart, For what it's worth I do admin on the Canadian Detecting forum and the program logic we use does not allow us to check pm's even if we wanted to.

FYI due to liability issues I sincerely doubt any of the boardhosts would agree to programming that allowed admins to access pms and effectively break the law.

No offense meant in the least bit, but your information is completely inaccurate.
Just because you had Admin permissions, you didn't have ALL of the permissions that a person who has God level access has.
With that access, you can view everything on the forum. Everything.
I used to administer many large forums. Before that I was a SysOP for EfNET and DalNet.
This is what I do. Security is my middle name.
I've nothing to hide and the people who need to know that already do.

My new weapon. Just got from Budsgun 3 days ago, 308 win. I like the old M1 style weapons. I shot the M14 in basic training then we went the the M16. Didn’t care for the 223. Not enough punch for me. Anyway, everyone’s got their on flavor of cake.
