Raise your hand if you have found the Lost Dutchman Mine.

Joe my father used to say that youth is wasted on the young, they haven't lived long enough to appreciate it. This, I do know now, since I am almost to my 93 birthday. Sigh I am loaded with treasure stories - a bit too late though

Wasn't the Gonzalez's inlaws to the Paroltas? Wasn't the mine a pit? Maybe I should throw that into the pit mine thread.

From most of the stories, the Peralta Family were the main mineholders in the Supers. The Gonzalez Family owned a couple of the Peralta Mines (one was a percentage as a wedding gift). When a Senior Gonzalez was saved by Ruth during the Revolution, he was given three maps by Sr. Gonzalez (not a Peralta). Two of the maps the Ruths got were of the Peralta/Gonzalez Mines in the Supers. One of the maps was regarding the Gonzalez Family Mine in Anza-Borrego Desert in Southern California.

I keep thinking I am close, but then every time I head out there, I remember just how desolate and remote this area is:

............and close to the cliffs under Font's Point

TONS of great hiding places.

I don't remember which 3 maps, can you post them or tell me which ones. Your area looks like a rattlesnake wouldn't go there. Be careful it looks rough.

Umm, yeah! Why sure, that's it! Bones, tools, guns and GOLD! :skullflag:

Terry,
Good find. Did you find any gold in the mine?

Just between you and me Nobodie, the vein is 20" wide, and follows the sidewall at least 45-feet deep into the addit. It has been financing my "Playboy" lifestyle since 2010. I pay for everything with gold, even the Sikorsky S70 I use to ferry it out. Interesting story, The Superstition Legend crew caught my bird on camera once and called it an "Army" helicopter. Pretty funny!

Yeah, got a few homes, a few toys, a few unhappy ex-wives. I just send them gold jewelry. :laughing7:

Not bad, I had my own plans of getting the gold out, but I like yours better.

Well, its good to know you aren't squandering it. Glad to see it put to good use.
