Only have dug two, this Morgan Dollar made of lead, and a Barber Half, that I can't seem to find a photo of. Can't read the date, and both sides are backwards. Looks like someone just took a real silver dollar, and tried to hammer the imprint onto a round piece of lead. I'll take a photo of the Half.

This was found at an old park from the 1800's. After a little research, I found out the letters H.M.F. stand for a guys initials, H.M. Frost. He was a druggist from Michigan. He must have stamps coins back in the day to show credit to his store? My dad found this. I thought it was cool. I had never seen a counterstamped shield nickel before. HH everyone!

I would guess most have been posted for an ID already, and if not answered probably not enough detail to go by. I don't think too many people have coins that they would not have made a good attempt at. Plus Jeff would move the thead to the what's it forum. :D

Found this one in a ballpark, former site of a traveling circus. The reverse is blank.

Your find is half of a coin mold for casting counterfeit nickels! :hello2:

Good ID Buckles, that makes good sense considering the location. Alot of people probably got short-changed!

1837 Large Cent made of lead.

Also found a seated half once that is made of pewter I think. Not sure where it is now. I'll post a pic if I find it.

If you have any amount of George II/III coppers you probably have more counterfeits to post.

Yup, got dozens of them. But, almost all of them are unidentifiable due to the soil conditions up here. I'm sure there are a few counterfeits amongst them.

I only have a handful of coppers that are pleasing to the eyes. Thank God silver comes out looking so nice.

Here are a couple of my counterfeits. 1771 Machin Mills is the first and the second is a 1787 Hibernia.

What metal? Are you sure it's not copper and a genuine brockage error. It's still cool even if counterfeit.
