new show on the dutchman

Then they would have no legal right to it...but from what I can tell it's pretty close to the wilderness boundary...if my hunch is right.

My son just called with the news that the show will not premier on local cable until NEXT Sunday.....???

Sorry to hear that Wayne, but at least you will see it eventually. That film company did a go job on the entertainment part of it. Now I kind of feel I am giving the show away if I post anything, so don't read my posts Wayne. :laughing7:

So someone clue me in on how this works. If they follow the map, and the location of the mine ends up being on a claim, what happens then?

To begin with, that map is wrong (in my opinion). If it was correct, the stones would be the same, and if they did use a paper map to make stones, they would have destroyed it after making the stone maps.

If they did come to find some gold claiming the map leads there, they could file a claim if none has been filed there before, and if it fits the prudent mans rule. You may have noticed that they used Sonny Tapia as the outfitter, that tells me that they are not in the Wilderness Area, as only Ron Feldman of O K Corrals has a permit to take people there.

So has anyone ever seen this map before they are using? He calls it the Tesaro map or something like that. They could have just spotted landmarks, built a map to perfectly match those landmarks, with a final destination of a mine........doesn't have to be the dutchman mine. I have no doubt a mine will be at the end of this map. But now I am starting to wonder if the map is a made for tv fabrication, so it matches with landmarks and gives everyone a "likely" empty mine. Course I can see it now, the old guy crushes some rocks, pans, and shows some flakes

Howdy signal,

Makes you wonder why they are called the "Salt" Mountains.:laughing7: I hear that the Salt River is not salty.:dontknow:

I believe that paper map was made by someone using the PSM's, and trying to put the trail on one paper to use it in the mountains. I believe that's why the arrow points into the heart, indicating it goes there.

I believe the Tesoro mapa was made after the PSM , and was corrected and adapted from the author to fits with the region of his/her interest .

I was Impressed with the Show.

I agree with those who Doubt the Map is as old as they believe.
The X on the Heart looked Fresh. the sun should have baked that off by now.

But with the exception of some of the Editing.
I hate the 1 Second Flashing of several scenes in a Row. They did it with the Map on several occasions.
1 second flashes of the map from several angles.
It messes with my Eyesight and brain. And I'm not trying to be funny.
I think an epileptic would not be able to enjoy the show,
as it would be like watching a flashing light.

there should either be a warning, some scenes may induce seizures.
or the Editor should be warned or fired.

as I said though I'm impressed with the show so far and Look forward to next week.
by then my nausia from the flashing should be gone.

So it seems Homar. But seeing the episodes a week after everyone else will be like going to a movie after reading the reviews.
Overnight, I've already received a number of screenshots and e-mails about the first installment, so It will be interesting to see what those on here have to say as well.

Regards:Wayne

Finding it would end the show abruptly.

I forget how many episodes there are already Filmed.
so there will definitely be no Finding it till the last one.

and if they want a season 2,
They will need to either hold off admitting it was found,
Or well , We all know the drill :laughing7:

I seriously doubt they will find much of anything. I watched the show last evening out of curiosity and it wasn't too bad. Next week It looks like they "discover" the ladders on the cliff face and if all goes as scripted that will be the big "ah-ha" for the episode. I agree, it's a reality show and our expectations shouldn't be too high for the series. Have any of these shows ever found the what they were seeking? None that I can recall. Maybe Scott can be brought in and prove that the Templers were there. I admit I would love to see the mine discovered by this group but...

This frank guy is a moron---all treasure hunters know that a double circle does NOT mean waterfall lmao--what a square

It's just entertainment. Don't think anything in it is supposed to be taken seriously. Frank didn't come across like a moron to me.

If we treat it for what it really is- just a good show, it's fun to watch. Expecting anything more than that will just be a letdown to you.

I have talked to Frank a few times....he's not a moron. I don't think he was referring to the double circle but rather the line with loops in it.

Obviously they are not gonna tell millions of TV viewers exactly how to find the Dutchman even if they do find it...

Wayne, I watched it on the History Channel website this morning. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next episode.

how many of them are members here ? I know sgtfda is

Really enjoyed the show, felt it was well done! Have a question: If the Tesoro map is considered to be a valid Peralta map to the treasure, how did the Peraltas pack their gold *out*? That's obviously a rugged trail going in, has to be no less so coming out ... I question whether pack burros could manage it.
