Misc data and adventures of a Tayopa treasure hunter

Yep Oro, cream please - less acidity, sides they claim it tends to eliminate Alzheimer's, which you are suffering from - where is your book on Custer's last stand? Since I am 93 now ---???

I am still working on it, just picked up a copy of Marquis' book on Wooden Leg in fact today. It is in the works amigo, just like the story of Tayopa and the man that finally found it! Still need to make another trip to the battlefield, NOT as a tourist this time, want to try a few things. I would like to do my own sound tests as well, but unless I can lay hands on a trapdoor Springfield, that is not so easy to do.

Side thing here but that only leave you 57 years to get your book done before that big party. So we are both on time deadlines.

Thanks Ditlihi for the very kind words, we must get together around the camp fire some time and drag Real de Tayopa along at noodle point! Besides, that steak he has been waiting for will get too old if he puts it off another year.

Oh Digger. I was southern born ( another 75 miles and I would have been born in Mexico) and I can't eat grits.
I worked in a mill when I was a young man, and seeing the screening start sifting out corn flower then corn meal then grits and lastly, hog feed. I just can't take my mind that close to the hog feed.
Just wired that way.

Heck ,you'll eat the hog though? :laughing7:
I could try to poker face while eating grits and suppress a shudder. AU's though......maybe not.
Peanut butter toast is easier though.

Amigo's,It is sunday, so for me that is fajita day, this week I am making Elk fajita's with stuffed hatch peppers, and Dewers with seven up.mmmmmmmmmmmm.Later I will have shots of Makers mark, I have to watch my diet.and my health......:hello: NP:cat::cat:

You can try Dewar's with Drambuie , 60-40 as a very exotic taste .
Seven up with Campari is very tasty too .

When I still drank " a lot while in the service", I found that Ginger Ale was a better mixer than 7 UP. No layers like with 7 UP. The Ginger Ale defused all the way through the drink. Try Napoleon Brandy but make sure it is V.S.O.P. Good with Coffee, sock or otherwise, on the side. Sip one and then the other.

So much to respond to....

Oro, Jose, and myself all working under pains of " deadlines" sounds so gruesome.
As if once they are published, we will have no need to breathe any longer..

Just in case, I have an old book that I started some thirty years ago. Pure fantasy, but oddly enough the deepest part oh the story line is underground.

So just to be safe, I think I will restart that story as soon as my present book is published.

As a second line of defense, I will add reading both of your books to my deadlines. That should keep me going well into triple digits!

All of that and avoiding grits should do it.

For now, it's time for pain meds and a hot shower. Believe it or not, I dislike the meds part, as they erase parts of my life that I cannot recover. I do not enjoy being " not in control " of parts of my life. That part sux, to put it bluntly.

Ditilihi, I just visited your profile, and I'm impressed that as a newcomer you write as though you have been here for years. So, I guess that " welcome aboard" is appropriate.

Happy to have such responses within our group.

Now you must have some wonderful stories to go with that wonderful insight.

Thank you, Sir Oro, for the invitation! :notworthy:

It would be my honor and a real pleasure to share your campfire and camaraderie with such illustrious companeros. One never knows when our paths may cross, I look forward to that juncture with much anticipation. :icon_thumright:

You are too kind, Prospector. :notworthy:

I may be a noob at posting on this forum, but have been an avid reader for quite some time. There are a few here with whom I've had the privilege to make acquaintance and longstanding friendships, which are my True Treasures.

My stories pertain more towards the people I've been blessed to meet along the way in my adventures, than any material treasure. But perhaps I might share a tale or two if it connects with a current topic of conversation. I'm a student of human nature, and in that respect, there's no shortage of material for me to draw from for inspiration here on this forum, lol.

Thank you for the welcome, and the kind words. I would be honored to count you among those friends and acquaintances I've made here. I've found the heart has an endless capacity for friends, and I'm bent on filling mine to the brim! :icon_flower:

:coffee2::coffee2::coffee2: .... with Drambuie, for those inclined ...

It is a poor man, that dies in a storehouse of treasure, and has no friends.
Consider yourself a little richer, as shall I. And I look forward to reading from your adventures, no monetary gain needed. We are simple folks here.

And I thought I was weird, I used to eat the cattle feed after the grinder truck was done making it. Heck all it was was corn and oats and molasses.
Kinda like eating cereal.

But you guys with your animal urine coffee got me beat by a mile...

I guess it just depends on how you look at the food.

The urine is completely beyond any consideration whatsoever !!!

Mikel.my friend, have you ever considered medical hypnosis as your pain killer ? It leaves your mind quite clear with no pain, not as is the effect with drugs, probably of the Opiate family..
Many years ago I, after I left pre-med, I experimented with it for about 10 years, with quite good success, in fact \I found the only person that I couldn't induce it was my father, naturally. Under it's influence one can perform major operations. Everyone has been hypnotized at one time or another by natural causes. The only persons that cannot be hypnotized are idiots, in fact the more intelligent one is - in your case guarenteed - the easier it is to induce hypnosis.he hypnotist actually does not cast a spell on you but he actually guides, or induces a condition where you actually hypnotize your self. The old belief that you cannot be hypnotized because" I have too much will"l is a fallacy .

Mikel, my friend, I cannot suggest too strongly that you check into it. Get your life under your control again.

Jose, there is so much to address here.

I have attempted to be put under one time and was told that I was a control type... Obvious attempt to avoid the word, freak. Which I am not, no matter how he tried to convince me that I am!!

I have however, been able to put normal pains in the background noise of my mind. But nothing like the pain and static that keeps me attached to my meds.
I have been electrocuted by a malfunctioning water heater, while in the shower and once by a case ground 240 volt motor, that left me unconscious for seven hours (long story) and have been knocked to my knees more times than I can remember by lightening while working as a lumber grader... None of these compare to the pain that I am in if I get past the 24hour mark.
My hearing is covered by a constant high pitched whistle which is always louder than the ambient noise level no matter how brief the exposure and it remains at the level for days after the exposure.
Even as I was writing the last sentence, my wife called out to me, from the kitchen to cover my ears, as she was going to empty a few ice trays and then came to me to let me know that she was done. Yes it is that bad...

As for memory " short circuits " , I have an arachnid cyst in my right temporal lobe, that is directly behind my right eye and the same size as my eyeball, plus six other smaller cysts in different parts of my brain.

The largest cyst can erupt with no warning, or from a simple fall or by hitting my head, or by overheating.

In short, my body is controlled by a powder keg and a false sense of security is my greatest fear

That is why I carry around my soapbox to preach about the evil sense of thinking that it's okay to just get a little too hot. So while I can say, to you, my dear and caring friend, for caring and sharing the wonderful ability to truly control your mind and heal yourself and others, for me that would place myself in danger, but thank you for trying just the same.

As for the masses that read this I must use my soapbox to say, with love in my heart, concerning heat and your bodies,

IT IS NEVER OKAY TO JUST THINK THAT YOU ARE JUST A LITTLE TOO HOT! Drink and find shade.

Mikel mi buddy, I didn't mention that one of the professors at the University gave me several books on the subject, not the dime store variety, but regular Medical Journals.. He insisted that eventually this would be a major medical break through, but it hasn't yet. He claimed that the mind has wonderful curative powers as well as destructive ones. Also it may help with your tinnitus. The old as you think so are you. In other words try to go for a curative solution as well as a pain eliminator.

I can teach you on line if you wish to experiment slowly. I always leave safeguards in place, some would happily go on a ride when their body just isn't ready for it.

In many ways I am a flop, failure, I have found las Pimas, Tarasca, la gloria Pan and The fabulous Tayopa, all lost mines yet I have yet to do anything with any of them. I guess my promotional skills are just not there. But it has been a wonderful ride and I saw and experienced things that can no longer be done

At one time my wife was 1/3 owner of the Lluvia del Oro, but the Molino bros let it go for taxes with out advising us, while she (we) were approaching te majors. It is now producing millions every year,

I also had a finger in the Palmrejo mine near Chinapas, Stranahan of Ventres showed me a check for one million dollars that he was authorized to pay for it, this was in the 50's, I had an interest in it, but lost it. Now a billion dollar silver mine. sigh

I found the actual entry for the Gloria Pan mine then walked off and left it when my partner died, a sort of a memory or monument to him. It is still closed..

As for Tayopa, I never had enough money to clean it out enough to interest a major, and have probably lost it due to unpaid taxes.

In other words while I am a very successful lost mine finder I am a flop at promoting. a typical treasure hunter :laughing7::laughing7:La

Mikel as an example of what it can do, I practiced Self Hypnosis to control pain, when I knew that the airplane wasn't going to end very nicely I automatically entered a self hyp command to have no pain for 24 hrs and never felt three ribs and two neck vertebrae going, as well as a few internal thingieso, but 24 hrs later things returned to normal -- ouch. The ribs healed with no problems, BUT the neck gave me hell for about 10 years. I carefully avoided pain control in that area for obvious reasons.
