Misc data and adventures of a Tayopa treasure hunter

Hello TT

Looks like you've got the 'bug' big style ! :laughing7:

Good one mate, I've never come across this one and its these old and obscure reports that are usually the ones with some substance. I've heard of a few treasure hoard reports emanating from Africa - King Lobengula's treasure and a huge treasure the Boers hid to keep out of British hands, but the first time for the link you've provided. This one deserves looking into further.

Thanks TT, looks like we'll hold the fort until the return of the Feathered One...

With the Boer War, I believe the British forces found a small lake that the Boers had used to dump some of their larger weapons and they discovered bags of gold ore. I'm not sure how much but I am sure it was a fair amount. If I recall correctly, some South African chap attempted to dredge the lake again and only managed to recover rusting old guns and ammunition. The place is well-known there but I can't remember the name of the top of my head.

Kanacki has already looked into that Dahomey treasure legend, but its rumoured the French got it after annexing the local kingdom.

Hi my friends. Recently some one posted a map of Durango before it was a state. It encloseed Chhuahua, Mexico and was before the Juarez reveloution 1800's. The states of Chihuahua & Durango were created in 1829.
It was very imporrtant to me. I filed it in my records, but can't find it.

Do Any of you know where / when it was posted ??

Hello R.T.T.T.,

I'm NOT positive, but I want to say that I think(?)/it seems to me(?), that "MarkMar" posted that map, but I'm probably wrong.:dontknow:
