Just curious?

A better dialogue with people (Iran) who want to wipe you off the map? What progress could reasonably be made? Would a better dialogue with fugitive ex-LAPD cop Christopher Dorner have actually helped?

Actually, a better dialogue with Dorner throughout his career as a police officer would have probably curbed the entire situation from even happening.

I doubt it.....Maybe Crispin could shed some light on this?

Sorry, I don't know the details of this. I would research but I'm too busy trying to keep up with all the threads.

The threads do tend to become numerous, don't they :laughing7:

You know they really want to take away our rights over here to metal detect as well, there are few places anymore to detect and they really want it so you can't even detect on your own property.

Metal detecting "Inland" is banned here in Sweden already, and i can't detect my own property. However, it is legal to detect the beaches with permits. This means instead of being stuck in the fields with the hornets and cowpats...i'm forced to be on the beaches full of topless Swedish chicks in summer! :occasion18:

What's your complaint? :icon_scratch: :laughing9:

And you say you have the same rights as us except for the second amendment????

Danos doing better in Sweden, dog forbid anyone see a boob or two here on a beach, it's enough to bring out the morality police.

Why would they ban it on your OWN property? Don't you have rights to your OWN property in Sweden?

I can understand not doing hazardous stuff on your property, but metal detecting on private property being banned?

Is this somehow related to being a Socialist country, or is there another reason for it?

I'm not allowed to metal detect on my property. Last time I cut the cable on accident; government banned it (ie...my wife.)

Did i say that about Sweden? I'm British, if i WANT the same rights as you then i just go home!

GIB - There's a thread on here somewhere on how NOBODY "owns" ANY land they're told, claim,or have papers saying they do! What your house is standing on.No matter how big your spread is..it just ain't yours! As you'd find out if the govt wanted it for any reason like huge oil deposits were found there...aliens land in your yard...etc etc.
Same here in Sweden.
Most of the big finds here and in the UK are found on "private property". Make a big / nice find and the Govt has first claim. If they want it they pay you half and the "landowner" half, that's how it goes for now. But if the UK were to suddenly ban "inland" detecting then your home is "Inland" unless it sits on a beach, and legally owned by the govt and as such you're not allowed to detect your gardens etc.
This is the same for the US too...ask RJC or one of his gang. One of them should tell you it's true.

Neighbor has cable on top of ground. I kindly cut it mowing for them. spliced it ,let him know. Weeks later, yep! Again.
After that when the kids saw i had mowed they would bet if they had cable.
Hunting an abandon home (with permission) i cut a wire for former garage lite digging. Oooops.
