It was in the 2nd year of the CONFEDERATE WAR...

No, I beleive Newton Hazelwood wrote the Job Print Pamphlet. In the writings of George Hart. He says that Newton Hazelwood knew what was in the Job Print Pamphlet before it was published. It also says that Newton Hazelwood changed the numbers so no one could find the treasure. It would seem like he should be the author. And in 1897 he gave a copy of the 8 sheets of paper with the #1, #2, and #3 on them to Clayton Hart and these where the original numbers from the iron box.

Must have been in the crystal ball Hart was looking into at the time. LOL :laughing7:

You "saying" that William Sherman wrote it, then...? ???
It IS possible that John William Sherman was "Ghost-Writer" for Maj. F.C. Hutter, who MAY have interviewed RM; the "flesh" of the pamphlet was PROBABLY "culled" from Past events/TRUE adventures... thus, making it FACTION or a "Historical Fiction" SAGA. STILL think it is a "Cover Story" for the CSA Treasury - WR; I think Peter Viemeister did too. BBL.

2nd Year of the CONFEDERATE WAR (1862-1863) is "KEY" here... THE SECRET is given by RM in 1862... he died in 1863, according the THE PAMPHLET. 1863, Stonewall Jackson died after being shot, body bought by train to Lynchburg, Va. & put on a "Packet Boat", THE MARSHALL, which went Up-river (James River)... to Lexington, Va. AND! VMI! The hull of THE MARSHALL is in Riverside Park, here in Lynchburg, Va., TODAY! MORE interesting BITS OF FACTS, coming SOON!

SO! Tonight, I will start with the Beale PAPERS Pamphlet; page 6... "It was in 1862, the SECOND year of the CONFEDERATE WAR, that Mr. Morriss first intimated the possession of a SECRET that was destined to make some persons wealthy." Hmmm... LATER, page 7... "About this time (a few weeks later), however, affairs of importance required MY (Author) presence in Richmond....". SO! What happened in 1862, that the author had to return to Richmond, Va....? The CONFEDERATE WAR was "on"...

YET! Could it had been Richmond, KENTUCKY...? "Google" Battle of Richmond... you will get KENTUCKY! A REBEL VICTORY! YEE HAH! Fought August 29-30, 1862... a "STUNNING" victory by (CSA) Maj. Gen. Edmund Kirby Smith against (USA) Maj. Gen. William "Bull" Nelson.

"Googled" August, 1862 calendar; Battle was on Friday-Sunday. A few weeks BEFORE that is August 7-9, 1862... was THAT when RM shared the SECRET...? Dunno... MORE JAVA and R & I!

Before the CONFEDERATE WAR, "Old Virginia" included what is NOW... West Virginia. THUS, "OLD" Virginia bordered KENTUCKY... The POSSIBILITIES are "endless", YET! PROBABILITIES, makes me PONDER & MULL things over! Jefferson County, West Virginia (TODAY), is a VERY "mysterious" place, in C.W. history...

MORE! Jefferson County, WV CONFEDERATE WAR "Highlight"... "google" Civil War Markers of Jefferson County, West Virginia.
"Clue"...? JEFFERSON! "Back then"... it was known as Jefferson County, VIRGINIA!

I don't know of a Coles County, W.Va. took the WVa Golden Horseshoe Test and it was not one of the counties. Only two that starts with a "C" was "Cabell" and "Clay"

There is a coal river.

Only info I know is that my ancestors lost over 43 of their kin holding the line between the North and the South on Estep Ridge between the forks of Sandy and Tug Fork Rivers. My great grandfather was shot and killed while he held my grandmother as a baby in his arms. Then came the land grabbers took 5,150 acres of my ancestors land. A WVA state clerk Dennis Atkins was the guilty party as he was grabbing up all the land and selling it to coal operators and timber companies. Dennis is rumored to have buried $200,000 in gold and I am quite sure he had it to bury. All of this was land formerly owned by Robert Morris the signer of the DOI and half uncle to Robert Morris of the Washington Inn in Lynchburg, Virginia.
