I'll show you mine'You show me yours

did they have a brown oxidized coating on them?

Most of the Chicken McNuggets that I have ever seen have a nice golden sheen to them...LOL

And speaking theoretically to an earlier posting...Here is a response that I tried to make...

If you believe that you are a candidate and have a few million to invest azdave35...I will gladly give you a sample of my ore to do with it as you will...As for paying you $20 to scan it with your xrf analyzer...I doubt that will ever happen...I will not be giving anyone else the inside track on what to look for without compensation...Like I have claimed...I have nothing to prove to anyone...Shoot..I can get me 80 Chicken McNuggets for $20...rofl

As for making such grandiose claims about the area that I have been to as being the area depicted by the Peralta stones and other treasure maps...Well...If someone comes up and makes me a good offer...I will try to return to the area of which I speak...And I could say that IF I can not prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt...Well...I don't know IF I can actually do such a thing...I don't know what I would do...Even though I have already proved it to my self beyond a shadow of a doubt...

Who knows azdave???If you could come up with a few million, I guess I would have to prove my claims to you...I really don't know how much the area in question might actually be worth...And if there is a millionaire out there who has a few million laying around that they could spare and would like to know what little I know...Well...I would be more than happy to share some of the knowledge that I have gained over the years...I may not know much...But I know what I know...

If there really are any treasures involved in so many of the treasure tales that my little site covers...Who knows how much money may be involved in such a venture...The possible investor would be the one who funds possible future ventures...And I will make my site known to said investor or investors...Who knows how much some may have already invested in such a search through their dealings with the horse's rump and not the horse's mouth...

As for EdT being Ed Trump...I wonder IF that might have anything to do with possibly becoming a billionaire one day...I doubt that will ever happen...But who can say that such a thing will not happen???If any type of investment corporation or company is formed to develop my little hole in the wall...I would not settle for less than a 51% controlling interest in such a venture...

Though said venture would not include the location that my little Tia Juana came from...That is a whole different ball of wax...hehehe

i've been in the mining game a long time and one of the first things i learned is not to invest money in anyone else's mining ventures...i have plenty of my own to dump money into if i want...as far as the scan goes..i usually charge alot more than 20 bucks..it was offered as a favor...you really dont need to prove anything to me...if you need to prove anything i would say you need to prove it to yourself...in my opinion if you really had what you claim to have you would have already worked it

I really don't have anything to prove to myself azdave...I believe that I have already done a fine job in doing that...And if you have not been following my comments...There is a difference between have and had...I can say that I have a small amount of ore left from a previous trip to a certain area I had visited...IF there ever does come a day in which I may return to said area...Who knows???

As far as favors go...I usually do not accept favors from anyone...I have learned long ago that there are always strings attached, in one form or another, to favors...If I were a greenhorn and IF I were new to the game...I probably would have jumped on the wagon and sent you a sample of what little ore that remains in my possession...And IF my ore was/is worth while I am fairly certain that a seasoned veteran like yourself would have told me that my ore is/was worthless...Yet you would now have the knowledge of exactly what my ore consists of and what you would now have to search for...

If you are one of the fortunate ones that has access to some of the ore I gave away...You would now be confident in knowing that I am the one who supplied the ore to whomever it was that brought said ore into the light...Just as the case may be with my little Tia Juana...

Maybe one day I may be fortunate enough to work it azdave...If it is destined to be...I guess we'll just have to wait and see...I am in no hurry...

you been watching too many old movies pal...an xrf analyzer prints out a detailed spectrum analysis of all minerals and it only takes 30 seconds..i generally do it right in front of the customer so he sees what i see...are you sure your name isn't fred c. dobbs?

I have a pretty good idea of what an xrf analyzer is azdave...Someone in Concord analyzed a chunk of my ore in Concord, CA long ago with one I believe...And he got pretty excited but he did not want to share the results with me...

And then there was the time I took another chunk to someone who called himself the rock doc I believe in an area near San Francisco...Who got rather excited as well...But sadly he too said my ore was worthless when I saw with my own eyes the spectrum signature of platinum in the test...

So azdave...I am aware that such a test and said results are available in mere seconds...And who knows who those people may have conned with said results of the scans of the ore from the little hole in the wall that I visited...

And Sarge is definitely right about a mine making a poor man rich and a rich man poor...Though I believe I was much richer before I came across my dang ore...lol

Fred C. Dobbs azdave???As in treasure of the sierra madre???I don't need any grubstake...Nor any meal for that matter...I still can afford half a chicken in my pot...And I am quite full with a quarter chicken...rofl

if you had it analyzed long ago it wasn't done with xrf...xrf analyzers have only been available to the public for 12 or so years and back then they cost 100k....they have come down some in the past few years...there have been quite a few boasters on the forum in the last few years bragging about some bonanza ore they have found...but they refuse to show the ore...i put out an offer to every one of them to test their ore and they all have a pile of excuses why they wont have it tested ..i say put up or shut up...if you have something ..bring it on and let us test it...then maybe we will listen to you

Well azdave...Some company in Concord CA had an xrf analyzer back in the mid to late 90's I believe and they used it on some of my ore...So who knows...He told me it used xrays and it had bar graphs for each metal that was in the ore...But like I said...He did not want to share the results with me...Who knows if it was in the hundred thousand dollar price range back then or not...Here is a current eBay link... https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...A0.H0.Xxrf+an.TRS0&_nkw=xrf+analyzer&_sacat=0 ...I do believe that the company that scanned my ore was an analytical laboratory ...I do recall that I had gone to the company to buy some lab supplies to do some aqua regia leaches on my ore...I had recently picked up some nitric acid in Quartzsite, AZ and I was anxious to play with it...And said company used to advertise in the ICMJ as well...It seems that the advertisers were a bunch of jerks out to glean whatever information that they could from greenhorns like myself, at the time...Oh well...

And as for the rock dock...He may have just been another snake oil salesman who advertised in the ICMJ back in the 90's...I believe he was located in Redwood City if my memory serves me correctly...And his spectro graph analyzer that he was pedaling back then was more like in the twenty thousand dollar range I believe...He was claiming that his dad had developed the technology...But who knows...I considered him another scam artist and charlatan...Though who can say???

I wonder how much some people have spent over the years searching for said little hole in the wall???And I wonder how much they will continue to spend on their search for said location???

In closing...Put up or shut up????Well...Like I continue to state...I don't have anything to prove to anyone azdave...What little ore I have left I will keep to myself...Too do with it as I please...Even if that includes crushing it and doing some little tests on it...hehehe...I think it should be in the Smithsonian or any other world class mineral museum, myself...Hell...Seeing that it is from the area depicted in the Peralta stones...It should be on display at the Superstition Mountain Museum... And yes...I will continue to proclaim my ore to be from the mining area that Antonio de Ulloa got some of his Piedras de Inga from...But what do I know???

And as far as anyone listening to me...I really don't care if ya'll listen to me or not...It is no sweat off of my nuts if you listen or not...I find it just as amusing playing my little games with seasoned treasure hunters as season treasure hunter have playing their little games with greenhorns...As I have mentioned....I have learned a lot since I began playing with hardrock ores and the treasure hunting game...I have learned not to trust anyone no matter how much they try to convince you that they are out to help you...Treasure hunters are a band of friends out to make themselves rich at the cost of the poor unsuspecting prospectors who don't know much about the ores that they discover...Most of them are probably affiliated with some large conglomerate who pay them top dollar to search for things that poor unknowing prospectors bring into them for guidance...And I'm quite certain azdave that some of the projects that you say that you can pump your money into...Are from some of the poor unsuspecting prospectors that you offer your favors to...And I'm quite certain that most of them are none the wiser that you are more than likely out to take them for all that you can take them for and they are more than willing to let you do it too..But what do I know???And what have I learned???Not much...roflmao

I wonder if any of the gold found by various DH'ers over the years, or even what Frank had in his pan, began it's journey from a place like this ?

The title of your photo is ' Thunder God Gold " . Maybe because of the shape of the supposed gold vein .

But think , what could mean for the superstitious Indians a place which surrounds a sacred for them treasure , marked in many places with a thunderbolt carved in rock and every human who would passed that area would mysteriously died ?
For them the Thunder God would takes the lives from all who want to desecrate that place

Do you know how these carved thunderbolts are " translated " in the Spanish code of guarding treasures ? Don't you ?
Where is depicted that place ? I think you know about .

Geronimo was clever and to avoid that dangerous route , used a rope to climb down the cliff , in front of the cave's entrance .

Marius,

I have serious doubts that Geronimo was ever in the Superstitions. The Native Americans who did nibble around the edges, for the most part, were after whatever food supplies were in season in and around the range. The only Apache who lived within the range were the Tonto Apache and they were in the Northeast portion of the range, mostly on the north side of the Salt River.

Good luck,

Joe

I think most would agree that the larger and more distinct vein in my photo resembles a thunder bolt in appearance. In fact, I had originally titled it "lightning strike vein" in a previous post.
As such, I think it fits the "Thunder God" meme established for the legend of gold in the Superstitions quite well. Like Joe, I don't believe the Apache ever had much of a presence in the Supes, and certainly no permanent rancherias. Don't believe the Yavapai did either, with the food resources of the range being the only thing that brought small groups of Tonto Apache, Yavapai and Pima into the area from time to time during the year.
There are a number of caves in close proximity to that vein, but I was able to climb down without needing a rope to get to the one closest to it.
There is also a circle of rocks, maybe twenty feet in diameter as I recall, on flat ground about 200 yards up the canyon.

Wayne and anyone interested in the Yavapai and Supersition Mt. area - below is a link to a paper written by E.W. Gifford in 1932. His source for much of his information was Mike Burns (Hoomothya) who was the young boy captured at the Skeleton Canyon massacre along the N side of the Salt River not far from the mouth of Fish Creek Canyon where many Yavapai were killed.

He goes into some good descriptions and includes photos which I imagine you would find interesting. From the paper it appears to me as though the Southeastern Yavapai spent a good amount of time in the Superstitions (primarily along Fish Creek).

One photo in the paper struck me as an area that should be pretty easy to identify today. I wanted to find it in person and I had the good fortune to talk with a number of people who all had ideas as to where it should be located and despite everyone being in different areas, one of them happened to be exactly correct. I put a copy of the photo from the 1932 paper here as well as one from roughly the same location it must have been taken when I was out there last year.

Anyone wanna guess where it is?

To get you started, read the bottom of page 180 and top of page 181 about "Camp Amanyika" which is the caption under the B&W photo. That should get you into the same general area I started with.

Hi Paul:

Yes, I recall our conversation about "Quail's Roost" back then.
Just never got around to asking how it went.
Actually, as I recall, Hoomothya was captured by Bourke's unit somewhere up near Sedona a few days prior to the massacre at Skeleton Cave. He had fallen behind the party of Yavapai raiders that Bourke's soldiers and Pima scouts were in hot pursuit of, and as a captive was present as a witness to the battle.

BTW: the ranch out that way was for sale for awhile.....off the market now....don't know if it sold

Hi Wayne - you're right that he was not actually captured at the Skeleton/Skull cave itself - my mistake. According to his memoir, he had left that camp where his family was a few days earlier to ride north with his uncle for some reason. They were overtaken a few miles from the Four Peaks where his uncle ran off leaving him to hide and eventually be captured by the soldiers who were out searching for indians. According to Bourke's diaries, Mike gave them an account of several rancherias with the one at Skeleton cave being amongst them. As a young boy I imagine he had no idea what was in store for his people at the cave.

I found something interesting that caught my eye today...It is on this site...Alchemy ...Under "The Arabs" section...It is the 5Th and 6th paragraphs...It is about Geber and white lead...To this day I still wonder if white lead is platinum...hehehe...Who can say for certain???If this is so the history of platinum needs to be rewritten...

Maybe I should shut up now because I don't want to prove to ya'll that I have found the pot of platinum at the end of the rainbow...lol

Maybe it is you who needs to prove your self azdave...

What do you know Cubfan???

There is an old saying that "The proof is in the pudding"...I really don't need to share any of my pudding with any of ya'll...Ya'll can search for your own pudding anywhere and everywhere that ya'll choose to do so...Who knows???Ya'll may already know more about my ore than I do...hahaha...Oh well...I could really care less...

I wonder what Oroblanco thinks of all of this???After all...Isn't he the platinum expert in these parts???

I can't afford anymore any Platinum reference !
