Wife, daughter, and I have all had both doses of the pfizer with zero reactions or side effects. My daughter has Crones and the meds she takes for that makes her somewhat immuno compromised,is that the right term?Any way ,no problems here.

Just got my second earlier today, Moderna. My mom got her 2nd shot a few weeks ago and had a bit of a fever for a day or so. We'll see, i suppose i better get some work done if I might be laid up for day or so....

I hope you go symptom free. Let us know.

Just to update, i had my 2nd shot at 12 noon Sunday. By 11pm i could feel fever like symptoms coming on. By the middle of the night it was bad, fever, chills, sweating, it was kicking my ass. Morning wasn't much better, just forcing myself to drink some water. Spent most of the day miserable, by evening I could eat again. Went to bed not feeling too bad and when i awoke this morning, symptom free.

My recommendation, when getting the second shot, get it on a Friday so you have a day or two to recover. First shot i had no symptoms other then a sore arm, it's the second shot for most people that gives you a flu like response.

Pretty much what we experienced and we also had Moderna.

It appears, at least in some areas, that supply is now exceeding demand for the vaccines. It also appears likely that the theory of herd immunity will not be achieved and different expectations will need to be considered. Control, rather than extermination of the disease seems more likely. There are still so many questions, but it is encouraging that pharma companies are pursuing anticipated needs like booster shots. It may be that we will need annual boosters like the annual flu shots, especially since new variants continue to pop up.

It takes 75-80%+ of the population vaccinated to achieve any herd immunity.

Current stats as of yesterday afternoon.

91,175,995 Fully vaccinated (27.79% of American population)

137,234,889 First vaccination (41.83% of American population)

222,322,230 Total Americans with at least one dose of vaccine. (67.78% of American population)

Not exactly right, TH. 137 million with at least one dose, 41.3% of American population. The 222 million includes second doses given.

The herd immunity is a theory and the % deemed necessary to achieve it is an estimate - and there are several estimates. With estimates of vaccine avoidance as high as 30-40%, it is unlikely we will achieve herd immunity. The term "herd immunity" itself is no longer being used by most public health professionals and immunologists as the newest reality is that it will not be going away. Better to plan to control the disease than to expect unrealistic eradication.

Follow the daily stats, I know people who said they will never get vccine and have now gotten it.

Here is a daily tracker of vaccinations given, it is updated week days by 1pm.

MAP: Covid-19 vaccination tracker across the U.S. (nbcnews.com)

According to the CDC, 222 million TOTAL DOSES have been administered to 137 million Americans (41.3%). I wish that we were at the 67.78% level.

https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#vaccinations

Note, fully vaccinated is a separate number from at least one dose, those are people who still need the 2nd dose, add the 2 numbers togethers and you get the total Americans who have had at least one dose, including those who are fully vaccinated. Administered is total number of Americans who have received a shot, including those fully vaccinated. 225,640,460 (67.78%) Americans have received at least one shot of one of the 3 vaccines available in America.

Got my second dose of Pfizer vaccine Thursday morning. By 11 PM, I had muscle aches and was shivering like crazy. The shivering lasted until 5 AM, but the muscle aches continued last night. Woke up today feeling fine and went metal detecting with no problems. Small price to pay for peace of mind...

Just got back from my 6 month check-up, at which I showed my doc my vacc card. He said "what a relief, my first patient of the day said he would not get vaccinated "because of the microchips". Recognizing a conspiracy theorist, my doc responded "Have you considered that the gov't may need to find you and help you when the Jewish space lasers are aimed at a forest near you?". I laughed and he told me the patient said "Well that makes sense, maybe I'll consider getting the vaccine".

Posts deleted, Mr. Newman, sir, thread is for those who have had the shots to talk of any possible side affects, please post by rules, no insults. Thanks.

(As of 4/26 230,764,454 Americans have had at least one shot of vaccine, 95,888,088 Americans are fully vaccinated.)

Second shot is scheduled for today after the dentist.

If I don't watch t.v. I'll probably have less side effects.
The first shot had me guessing if it was the shot , or too much media....

Due to the vaccine, I turned back the aging clock 40 years and am now a hot 24 year old blonde! Not really.:laughing7:
