Found this button on a hunt yesterday. We were on a historical cabin site from 1750. Most everything I find I can date and identify with the internet or my relic buddies. This button however may be too common. Could not find a button that was even close on the internet. This is a stud type button that was typical of denim use. It measures 1/2" wide and small as buttons go. It was dug at 5" inches deep. I was hoping a button expert could help type and date this button. We found relics spanning over 100 years and up to about 1930.
Thanks guys. IMG_7134.JPGIMG_7137.JPG

It does look like an overalls or work clothes button. The style is art nouveau which would date it from the 1880's to about 1920.
