I'm new to the site so if I go about things the wrong way I apologize. I recently began hunting for geodes and I'm hooked let me tell you!! I have found several very interesting pieces in the past two days. This one I found in a stream near my house. I chose to post it because it's easiest to see the detail without a magnifying glass. The others are difficult to capture the details in photographs

Fault breccia, excellent mineral potential when found in conjuction with quartz

Hydrated basalt formed underwater, aka pumice. Great foot scrubber.

Hopefully you can see the striations. Lands and grooves. Some sort of petrification? Breccia......Thanks

Hi I was wandering if you could help me. I found this rock recently on a beach in the south of England. It's seems to me to be a quartz of somekind, although I don't know a lot about these things I could be wrong. There does seem to be shards of crystal in the rock too, some have a pinkish colour while others are darker more like a grey or black. There also seems to be some kind of iron ore attached to the rock. image.webpMy partner seems to think I have found just another rock while I seem to think I've found something special Hope you can help. Sorry if the picture quality isn't that great x

I recently bought my first mining claim and picked up a few buckets of material to test and figure out where to search. The problem is that I don't really know exactly what I'm looking for yet. I've panned a little gold previously and collected rocks but I don't know much about them. I was referred to this website and it looks like I found the right place for mineral hunting! I think this rock may be silver ore but I'm not sure. Thanks for your help!

I Found this rock in a open field hunting. Its hard to see but it has almost a glittery sparkle to it. It also has very small specks of black in it that almost look like a gem type. Can you tell me what type of rock this is? rock.webp
