Although British Columbia has important magnesite resources
and access to the abundant, competitively priced energy required
to transform magnesite into value added products such as magnesium and magnesia,
only the Mount Brussilof deposit is in production.

With only one in production I would think to hang onto it until things open up more .....

So walking the beach early one morning I saw what appeared to be 2 lights flashing on and off about 30 yards from shore never I my 40 years have I seen something like that I know it wasn't divers or dive lights it just flickered on and off for a while then couple months later in the same area I stumble across this rock that stuck out like a sore thumb There is a real slight magnetic pull in spots and the under side of the rock shows a I would say like a melt off break it's not a sharp edge break like it slid apart it weighs 28lbs has a blue grey shine the pics was the result of a little polishing idk wishful thinking but🤞🤞

Dusted this is VERY nice of you to do this :

)Thanks

Has anyone here heard from Dusted you? He has not been on in a few years. I hope he is ok. He was the best at playing "stump the chump" ! ????

An every day rock found in Carson City, Nevada but has curious dark red inclusions?

The first pictures are of a homemade clay top. Look at the shaped triangle like upper part and the tiny holes deliberately made for maybe steam to escape while something is cooked or a liquid brewed.

Looking to identify this rock, I consider myself a noob when it comes to rocks but I love collecting them! Is this granite? It glistens/shines a little when I move it - is that mica?

Hey guys and gals. I do a lot of metal detecting around old mines here in southern California. This one is stumping me. What do you all think. It sounds off with my md20 falcon detector. I find a lot of chalcopyrite but this one looks a little different. I can scrape out pieces with a metal pick. It doesn't come off as big chunks though. Seems like it's a mixture of metals. When i scrape it out it just comes out as tiny pieces. When i pan it out it is heavy but doesn't act like solid gold. I have found flour gold in the past and it just doesn't stay in place like flour gold does. It is found in all the black sand in my pan. So, if you have a guess, I'm interested in everyone's opinion. Thankyou

Someone who knows should be along soon. I did watch a good YouTube once on smelting gold out of the pyrite. You crush the ore first to pan out the little bit of gold you can get. Then pick out all the pyrite pieces collecting, until getting a lot for smelting.
