First time posting. My son and I found this rock while hiking in a glacial park in northern Illinois. Very sparkly exterior. He calls it the grilled cheese rock. :-)

Can you please help me figure out what I got here. ? In the larger one you can see it in the pic but there is also large clear and green crystals embedded in it as well. This rock is super heavy very unusual the blue crystal is so bright it's ultraviolet like in light. The smaller one is also heavy and completely loaded with some crystal also and it's texture is hard to describe it's smooth but also pourus like . I found them on the hayward shoreline in Hayward Ca. I have found some amazing looking rocks etc.this is also part of pacific coast trail .Any idea đź’ˇ what it can be ..thanks a
bunch .

I found this and 18 in thick gray volcanic ash vein along the whole mountainside and this a little nodule sticking. It's not magnetic very soft weights
almost 4 oz. Any ideas. There was no other rocks in the ash just ash it was found in Oregon 1615436742983327047633933509598.jpgout1615436742983327047633933509598.jpg

I found this in the badlands of ND. I am familiar with most I find but need help with this one. At first it looks like a normal formation. When I tried to flatten the bottom it appeared metallic and very shiny. It is not magnetic to light magnets and after some time rusted. It also seams heavier than equal sized formations. thumbnail_20210318_100730.jpg20210318_100714.jpg20210318_100714.jpg

I live in Northern California, citrus heights to be exact. I was just digging the rocks up to accentuate my bulb garden initially. But the rocks kept changingIMG_20210318_111740045.jpg... I selected a few for continued examination. Help me figure this out?IMG_20210319_110442620.jpg[/ATTACH]IMG_20210319_110437421.jpg

Hi
I saw a pretty big boulder in the mountains here of northern israel , which are mostly limestone if I'm not mistaken. This boulder had all kinds of crystal encrustations so I looked around for a smaller version and found one, busted it open by chunking it against another rock , and wound up with two pieces like the one shown. I guess this is quartzite?

How hard is it? If you can scratch it with an iron nail, it’s not quartzite. It could be calcite crystals or selenite crystals, but most likely it is just quartzite.
