Got A Rock you Want Identified? Post it here! gimme a good picture or 3 or 4!

Found this in New Mexico at Abiquiu, Plaza Blanca. Lots of sand formations there and lots of rocks. I was wondering what the pale green crystal/stones imbedded in the rock are. Can you help? IMG_3851.JPGIMG_3852 2.JPGIMG_3853 2.JPG/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_425b.jpg

I live near the Mississippi in Wisconsin in part of the midcontinent rift. I find rocks while digging the ground that are very different than other homes I've owned. I find green rocks, green clumps of soil that break apart, lots of quartz with red/orange hexagon crystals inside, limestone, and sandstone. I saved some rather odd stones that were metallic like. Ran in to uraninite when I researched Radon. Looks very close. But i'm not a geologist nor do i own a geiger counter.

Hey guys if you have any rocks you want identified,, or are having a problem with the composition, Post it with questions, and a brief summary of where you got it..I'm down to help!

And I love to play Stump the Chump!:coffee2:

My husband found this rock while digging a backyard at work. It made an explosive sound and this is a piece of a bigger rock. Found it in a backyard is Silver Spring, Maryland. Could it be a valuable rock?

Hi there beautiful people..20170419_170955-1.jpg
Curious to find out what I have here... A large jar of this was given to me.
Mirror finish
Layering
Brittle
Seems to turn a Goldy colour after exposure to the air..
Very light..
I'm in central NSW, in Nyngan. We have a few mines around us here.. I'm possibly jumping to conclusions here but I'm sort of hoping its scandium.. We have the Nyngan Scandium Project starting up at any time.. Hoping I've come across a sample jar.. How can I test it. We apparently have one of the purist ribbons of scandium here.. Or am I dreaming.. Is it Pyrite.. HELP . Cheers people ;)

From your description being brittle I would venture that this would be pyrite as it is brittle. I do not know very much about scandium but from what I
have read scandium is soft. Pyrite would be my guess....

Hi... Found this in a river, scratches glass, no streak, no scratch from quartz. Its taken a lot of beating. I know it looks synthetic, but def is not glass.

Hard to tell. Looks kinda man-made to me. Take it to gemologist, due to it being polished we're gonna have a hard time to ID it properly.
