Visited our old hometown yesterday. Took a walk around the res there with my camera.

White Neck Heron.

White Face Heron.

Pacific Black Duck.

Turtle up for air.

Black Swan. This was way near the opposite shoreline and I had to zoom on about 600 or more. Handheld so happy it came out at all.

On the walk back saw an echidna, thought it was foraging at first but turned out to be getting a sleeping spot.

Dug in and snug.

Don't think I posted this elsewhere. Is some big carp in there, caught these at spawning time. Had to drop the video quality to fit.

Wow that is really cool! Looks like those carp swam way way up in the shallows to spawn. Do you ever fish for them? Are that any good to eat?

Hi. Yeah I like fishing for them as they fight hard. But I don't eat them. Some I see fishing get them to eat but I haven't tried them. They have an odour that when I tried filleting one put me off. They reckon cooked right you'd not know it was carp. I should try it one day.

They’re violent when they spawn. I remember seeing it as a kid. Walked up to a pond to get some bluegills. Scared the crap out of me.
