GOLD RUSH South America starts August 2

They need to put Todd on the new Discovery show "Naked and Afraid" and access his survival skills. I did see a lot more of the advertising for Garett though on the equipment. Good for them.
I am guessing they just left the back hoe in the woods as they did not go back and ran to the plane ?

You don't want to see him naked :laughing7:

HOLY FRICK!!!!! :o

I agree this show is not helping our cause. Wouldn't it be great if someone made an effort to make a show or film showing prospecting and small scale mining in a positive light? Sigh. The announcer makes me cringe every time for some reason he reminds me of the Dukes of Hazard announcer if its same announcer as previous seasons. I liked Dukes of Hazard btw great show!

Just the same garbage format as last year. gold rush is following there same format as well. I just want to see how Parker does this year. The thought of him paying 25 ounces of gold for Toad's pile of crap excuse for a wash plant is laughable though.

And that was when gold was around $1600 an oz. ($40,000.00) :o
He could have purchased a brand new one for less with more yardage capability.

Parker is also making some other less than bright decisions, such as hot wiring Todd's Excavator and then nearly going over the side with it!

GG~

Yes I can't Believe Parker made that Mistake.
It's not like he lived in Hawaii all his life,
He knows what Ice is

Yeah but Parker has had everything handed to him on a silver platter. How many parents would really give there kid $160k. He's been able to mine his grandpas land and niw up North where Freddy Beats is showing him right where the gold is. He should learn on his own

All I see are environmentally unfriendly shots with "gold miners" that are afraid to do anything. They would be just regular bums without the deep pockets.

BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS silver platter??? That young fella has busted his anus working like a dog since he was a kid on Gpas mine. Simply take a gander at past seasons as the only REAL miner on that show is the kid Parker, born into it and ONE lousy mishap does not cancel out some a the best equipment operating ever seen on this or any other lousy tv show. John:dontknow:

Couldn't agree more John. Never had a son, but if I had, a "Parker" is what
I would have wanted him to grow up be. No matter what that young man wants
to do, he'll be successful simply because of his attitude and perseverance.

That kid is relentless in his pursuit of gold, and many seem to forget that he spent
most of an entire winter clearing ground so come spring the mine would be ready
to go to work. He's got a good friend in Tony, not to mention that Tony's got a
very handsome daughter for Parker to date/marry...(bet it's coming in the future!).

'Ol Fred's another one that won't start whining and quit, right along with his son
and that gal they work with, cause she's tough as nails herself.

As for the rest of them...well, they are entertaining at least..:laughing7:

I hate to tell you guys, but all of that was scripted, and there was no big drop off where Parker was skating around. Notice how the camera never bothers to pan over to show you "the drop off" ? They even used the same footage twice with different editing to make it appear more dangerous than it really was. And wouldn't he be guilty of felony theft if he actually hot-wired that equipment and just took it? That also was just something put on for the camera. Don't fall for it.

I agree he didn't Hotwire anything without Express Permission if at all.
it is possible Todd told him he wasn't going to run up with the keys,
But if he could get it started, To go for it.

As for the Ice, & the cliff, I did notice they didn't show the Cliff,
And wouldn't be surprised if Fake.
As I said He should have known better.

it's the first thing I learned in Winter Driving in PA.
you drive on ice, it beter be completely Flat.

He's in Alaska

Parker's a good kid and an expert operator no doubt about that, he also has the exuberance that only youth can provide.
Surely he will run more than one test hole before deciding where, and where not, to dig on that huge claim.

And hopefully that 25oz of gold paid for a broken down washplant was just for show and not the real price paid. I'll have to go back and watch but I think Todd paid around 20K or less for it used 3 years ago. * update.... season 2 episode 2 stated Todd paid $40K for the wash plant so that means he got all his money back from Parker.

GG~

Plus they torched it apart to drag it out like garbage when they were getting a new washplant. After their abuse of it, i wouldn't have paid more than scrap steel price.

Parker will have his work cut out for him getting that plant to run efficiently for sure. It really needs a duplex jig added or at least a way to re-run the sluice tailings through a setup for fine gold. Guaranteed that plant lost a lot of gold off the end when the Hoffman's were operating it.

I wish the announcer would STOP repeating himself! Geez, we heard THAT PART already, and on it goes.

Once I tried to find some footage of what the excavator was doing on bearing sea gold. I found the show had maybe 5 minutes of mining, tops. And in that case it was mostly divers running a hose.

Now yer talkin! Nothing like a giant fluid bed with an 8 mesh grate over it
to capture all that small stuff..and it'll sure as hell do it, too..:occasion14:
