But ... What do you think. In a known camp, not around any other rocks, and the rocks that are there of a noticeably different type. Sure looks like something to me but I've been fooled before. I know better than to assume its a tool just because it fits in the hand, but there seems to be patina in all the right places.

Looks like some smoothing on the one side. Almost like a shaft smoother. I can’t remember the proper name, sorry maybe someone else will recognize it
Is it Indian artifact?
 

Your 1st & 2nd picture does appear to have been used where groove appears smooth.

Friendly word of advice, don't get caught up in how a rock fits your hand, it will mislead you 99.99% of the time. Native Americans did not make finger grips as 3rd picture appears to be trying to do.
