I still don't see enough names on the list. I only see 2 people attending, in which case I don't think it is worthwhile.

Is there still an interest in getting together on this?

OK, let's cancel to meeting :(

It's said to see the fire go out.

But let's keep this form going

I believe when the weather improves

we will see a new intrace.

I have heard stories of canonballs being found in the area, as well as rumors that the British dumped at least one big gun in Big Timber Creek near Clements Bridge in haste as they fled from their defeat at Fort Mercer.

The only canonball I have personally seen is one dug up in a yard in Maidenhead (now Lawrencville), just a few miles north of Trenton. It is on display in the public library there.

Hi Neil,

Heres what I found out.

Cannonball, Fuses Found on Ocean County Beaches

SEASIDE PARK, NJ (AP) -- Bomb disposal units have been busy in Ocean County after a cannonball and fuses turned up on beaches.

A Seaside Park man with a metal detector discovered the cannonball buried in sand in South Toms River. Sean DeGroot brought the black powder-filled iron ball home, prying away the rust with a knife.

DeGroot tells The Asbury Park Press he went to the Internet for help and contacted the Navy. He was told not to touch it and a bomb squad from the Earle Naval Weapons Station arrived yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Army Corps of Engineers has halted a beach replenishment project in Surf City after a beachcomber found five World War Two-ere fuses.

Officials believe the fuses were dredged up offshore.

That is one good way to blow yourself up! I read a recent article about a Texas(?) man who killed himself messing with a live shell.

Hey guys,
I'm still interested in getting together but things keep coming up. Unfortunatly tonight I'm going to a wake for a friends sister. I'm hoping that in a few weeks or so things begin to calm down and I have more time. Lets keep the thread going and I think it will happen.

I am working on a design for a webpage. How does everyone like the name "Nova Caesarea Relic Hunters"?

Hi Neil,

I think it's a great Name.

Let's keep thing rolling,

How about a meet an great hunt @ a Local Beach
or any other location that we can MD? In March a Sat/Sun

Last weekend in March is NG for me. I would love to check out the Brigantine area. I hear great things about wrecks etc.

AC is known to produce plenty of Bling.

I would like to check out the Highlands mentioned in Jeff's post. If that does not work out we can shoot over to Belmar where they are repairing the boardwalk which has turned up some older coins.

Let's start posting places that we are going M.D.

If you want other's to come.

Post: Location - Date & Time

We can only hit under Belmar boardwalk as they are repairing it.

Let's hit Boardwalk for a few pass's then go to the Highland's

I'm good for this Sat or Sun.

Daniel here, ready to meet up and hit some spots as a group.
Sounds good, cover more area, find productive spots.

Sounds like a plan.

I am in South Jersey. I am always up for hunts in one of the "middle" counties (Mercer, Western Ocean & Monmouth)
