I also remember you saying you scraped it with a knife and broke a pea sized piece off the tip with pliers. . You never admitted to using a grinder but I dont see how it could be rust free found in a lake.
Its similar to the drift posted by Ammon. The drift posted by SBB was a wider closer match and the tool is used to forge the tapering hole or eye in a pickaxe. SBB also found a pickaxe with the exact shape. I cant find the pic SBB found but the drift is used in this manner.

I posted on the meteorite forum to ask Terry to please explain his comment because I dont know why he said it. Everyone else told you no, it is not a meteorite.
http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/meteorites/294437-meteorite-projectil.html I dont understand why anyone would make a wedge size tool or weight from a meteorite and if they did, it would no longer have the dimples or so called regmaglypts because they would be hammered or grinded away.
I have a few questions.
Will a magnet stick?
How deep was the water you found it in?
Was it at the boat dock, swimming hole, fishing hole or what?
Was in under the muck?.
What detector did you use?
What was the exact date of the find and why did you choose Bantam Lake?
Thanks
BTW I doubt its related to the April 10, 2012 UFO incident at Bantam Lake because I think you posted it here earlier. (not sure)
